Gelphie is the femslash ship between Glinda and Elphaba from the Wicked fandom.

Glinda and Elphaba were roommates back at Shiz University. Originally antagonistic toward each other, they gradually warm up to become best friends. However, their friendship is marred by differences centered around the Wizard, Animal rights, and Fiyero.

At the start of the school year, Elphaba arrives to the school with her sister Nessa. Elphaba plans to room with her, but Madame Morrible had already made plans for Nessa to stay with her since Nessa is handicapped. Unfortunately, this leaves Elphaba with no roommate. Madame Morrible asks for any volunteers, but no one comes forward as they are disgusted with Elphaba's green skin.

Galinda winds up having to room with Elphaba, much to both of their disgusts. Galinda can't stand Elphaba's green skin and prickly temper, while Elphaba mocks Galinda's blonde hair and obsession with popularity.

When Galinda is invited to the OzDust Ball by Fiyero, she is excited. She receives an ugly black pointed hat as a gift from a relative. Having no intention to wear it, she "gifts" it to Elphaba, who takes it as a gift in good faith. Elphaba wears it and is mocked at the ball, but doesn't let people get in her way, so she dances alone. Feeling bad about giving the hat, Galinda goes to dance with her. This marks a turn in their relationship, and Galinda decides they should now be best friends. She affectionately gives Elphaba the nickname "Elphie".

As friends, Galinda tries to help Elphaba be popular. Similarly, Elphaba helps Galinda get into Madame Morrible's sorcery classes. When Elphaba receives a letter from the Wizard, she asks Galinda to accompany her. On the day they are to board the train, Galinda realizes her boyfriend Fiyero has taken a special interest in Elphaba, and she fumbles, telling people she wants to change her name to Glinda in honor of Doctor Dillamond.

In the Emerald City, the two girls are amazed by the grand city, from the shopping opportunities to the libraries.
