Genekle is the het ship between Gene and Twinkle from the Super 4 fandom.
Canon[]
Overview[]
At first they are complete opposites, Gene is a modern scientist who does not believe in magic which he finds illogical due to its supernatural nature, and Twinkle, a fairy, (just like Alex and Ruby) mistakes technology for magic at first. This caused to annoy Gene and correct them every time. Additionally Gene is the eldest member of the group and Twinkle appears to be the youngest, and as well Twinkle sometimes is portrayed as slow and unitelligent.
As the series passes, Gene gets more impressed and convinced about how powerful and useful Twinkle's magic can be and Twinkle as well gets to appreciate more Gene's inventions and intellect.
Season 2[]
Saturday Knight Fever[]
Gene has accepted to accompany Twinkle on a ball at King Kendrick's castle. Since he has never danced before, Alex and Ruby bring him inside a room where he tries to dance but fails and falls down on the floor. When he stands up, he says that he didn't want to disappoint Twinkle, while Alex tells him that for once he doesn't think that Gene's technology will be able to help him. Gene comes up quickly with an idea and he goes to the chameleon to invent a pair of shoes with over of 400 dances on disposition.
Moments later the ball begins on the throne room. Gene is dancing a waltz with Twinkle and keeps a count of his steps.
Accidentally he throws away Twinkle and while trying to save her, Gene hits his shoes which caused them to short-circuit and Gene loses the control over his feet.
After the conflict from the episode is solved, which was that the King was kidnapped, Super 4 go back to the throne room. Twinkle asks Gene if he wants to dance again, which Gene responds to her by asking "without the shoes?", and Twinkle answers to him to dance however he wants, since "dancing an art to show one's personality", and Gene starts dancing to robot-like movements right after.
Super Gene[]
Gene and Twinkle starred together in this episode since they had to rescue Ruby and Alex from the Baron's Castle. They had to cooperate together. Since Gene's fighting abilities leave a lot to be desired, Twinkle told him that he should do some sport, but since he though he didn't need it, Twinkle gave him with her magic the abilities to make him more physically skillful. That, although it helped him fight the Baron's guards at the beginning, later when the effects from Twinkle's spell vanished, Gene had no other than to save the castle with her intelligence and scientist abilities.
Moments[]
- In Season 1 "Rage of the Dragon" Gene asked if Twinkle was okay after a dragon blew out fire on her, (which she protected herself with a magical bubble).
- In Season 1 "Trace and Old Turnips" Twinkle understood the responsability of returning the Albaporeonium to Technopolis which Gene agreeded with her.
- At the beginning of Season 1 Episode "MindNet", Twinkle was admiring the beauty of the sunset which would become a key for the solution of the conflict at the end of the episode.
- In Season 2 "The Sky is Falling" Gene named the unknown meteor "Twinkle" in honor of Twinkle's achievement of saving Kingsland from it.
Fanon[]
This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.
This ship is decently respected on the fandom just like Alene, but is not as popular as Alenkle, since fans might think that Twinkle goes better with a knight like Alex. It is also overshadowed by Geneby, Gene's most popular ship. On AO3, there are a couple fanfics featuring this pairing, although only one is tagged as romantic. On other platforms such as Tumblr and Twitter, some platonic fan content featuring the two, and the Super 4 cast in general, can also be found.
