Gerudo Lineage is the family ship between Urbosa and Riju from The Legend of Zelda fandom.
Canon[]
Breath of the Wild[]
Urbosa and Riju do not interact in Breath of the Wild due to them being born in different time periods. Riju does carry out Urbosa's legacy as the chief of Gerudo Town and has looked to her for protection and guidance when doing a dangerous mission. In the secret dialogue from Urbosa, she only wonders who the new chief currently is.
Age of Calamity[]
As Urbosa struggles to defeat Thunderblight Ganon and on the verge of death, Terrako's Gate of Time is created and Riju and Patricia ram into the beast before it made contact with the Gerudo Champion. Urbosa is surprised at her presence, but Riju tells her to focus on the fight for now. As they begin to struggle again, Riju felt foolish to think she was strong enough to protect her, but Urbosa assured her that she did all she can, and help has arrived. After slaying Thunderblight Ganon, Urbosa strikes a mountaintop to release an updraft so they can reach Vah Medoh to save Revali and Teba from Windblight Ganon. Once they reach Vah Medoh, Urbosa thanks everyone and Riju for their help though Riju told them that they all fought as one. After that Urbosa and Riju help protect the Science Academy from Master Kohga's Yiga army and the monsters. After that, Urbosa praises how Riju handles the Thunder Helm despite it being too big for her. Riju was about to speak about her duties before Kohga snags it and attaches it to his topknot, he then taunts Urbosa that her lightning ability won't work on him, but Urbosa proves him wrong by using her power anyway, which works and Riju gets it back. When asked how she still did it, Urbosa tells him that it would take him a hundred years or more to master it. Angered, Kohga declares that even if it took him that long, he would eventually have it and flees while both Gerudo Chiefs took a moment to breathe.
As the war raged on, Riju is disheartened by the nightmarish state and number of enemies which Urbosa tells her that she didn't need to sound defeated, with Riju still being uncertain. Urbosa reminds her that she would not have lived had she not come and because of her, she is still here with Naboris having a living pilot and wagers that nothing can stop them. Riju feels a little better and Urbosa asks for her hand which Riju takes and is pulled into action. After that, enemy reinforcements appear and Urbosa herself becomes frustrated, which Riju gives her the pep talk that they must not stop until the battle is over. Urbosa to see a Gerudo vai after her own heart, and it wasn't long before the rest of the Champions' Divine Beasts came to wipe out the army with Urbosa wondering what took them so long. Eventually, Purah uses the Sheikah Towers to summon all the armies and unites them all to take back Hyrule Castle. While Calamity Ganon puts up a fight, it, Astor, and Harbinger Ganon were all defeated once and for all. As peace returns to Hyrule, Terrako's blessed screw sends the descendants back to their own time with Urbosa and Riju saying their good-byes before she and the future warriors are returned to their own time. In the secret ending, Urbosa and Riju are racing on their sand-seals together and are later seen at Hyrule Castle speaking amongst themselves as Terrako entertains them.
Fanon[]
Fans have exhibited their love for the relationship between Urbosa and Riju, showing how much they care for each other in the direst of the situation. There has been a good number of fan art and fan fics dedicated to their relationship to show their love of the bond between them. Riju is less experienced and tends to be very unsure of herself due to being forced to take the throne at a young age in light of her mother's death and having to deal with people doubting her, which Urbosa would help her fight that self-doubt in a similar manner she did Princess Zelda. Urbosa is also willing to stand up for her and help her deal with unfriendly folks such as Master Kohga to help Riju stick up for herself more. It is also notable that Urbosa is certain that Riju will lead her people well, which Riju ended up doing so in Tears of the Kingdom when she gets her time to really shine.
