Gi-hun's Team is the friendship between Seong Gi-hun, Park Jung-bae, Kang Dae-ho, Kim Jun-hee, Cho Hyun-ju, Jang Geum-ja, Park Yong-sik, Hwang In-ho, Lee Myung-gi, Park Gyeong-seok, Se-mi, Park Min-su and Kwon Byeong-su from the Squid Game fandom.

Canon

Gi-hun's team consists of himself, Park Jung-bae, Kang Dae-ho, Kim Jun-hee, Cho Hyun-ju, Jang Geum-ja, Park Yong-sik, Hwang Inho, Lee Myung-gi, Park Gyeong-seok, Se-mi, Park Min-su and Kwon Byeong-su. However, not all of them were part of the team from the beginning. At first, Gi-hun and Jung-bae were quick to join one another and help each other through the games as the both of them were already childhood and long-time friends. Other team members also knew each other beforehand, such as Geum-ja and Yong-sik, who are mother and son, respectively. Although not all of them necessarily help each other or team up. Like in the case of Jun-hee and Myung-gi, that are ex-partners, and since Myung-gi dated Jun-hee and scammed her with a crypto currency scam, they broke up soon after.

During the first game, Red Light Green Light, Gi-hun makes his best efforts to help all of the players of the Squid Game, to try and save their lives. He gives them instructions on how to safely beat the game, but most people think he is crazy or talking non-sense. The members of the team, however, listen intently and try to follow along, even more so after witnessing the constant murders that happened to those who didn't follow Gi-hun's advice. After all the team's members cross the finish line, Gi-hun decides to come back to the game to rescue a man who was shot in the leg, injured badly, but that begged for anyone to save him. He lifts the man, puts an arm around him and tries to carry him but finds it difficult. With the time ticking and being dangerously close to ending, Hyun-ju joins them on the man's other side, and she helps Gi-hun carry the man to the finish line on time. Despite their heroic efforts, the man gets killed either way because he was already shot before the game ended.

By the second game, the team starts getting more cohesive, forming smaller groups. Since, before that, they were still strangers to each other, and during the voting section, to decide whether the game should keep going, or if they should leave, they were pretty divided. On top of it all, In-ho, who is not only an infiltrated player amongst them, but also the Front Man, current head staff member and the person who oversees the Squid Games, joins Gi-hun in his team for the second game, alongside his friend Jung-bae, Dae-ho and Jun-hee. Meanwhile Hyun-ju, Geum-ja and Yong-sik, and Se-mi and Min-su meet each other for the first time here, as they decide to form teams together.

After the third vote and the game, Mingle, where Gi-hun's and Hyun-ju's teams have overlapped in the first found as they neeeded 10 players, the team has fully formed. Everyone also voted for "X" to stop the games, which would mean they all agreed on one outcome now. They all sit together as they start to eat together, with Yong-sik and Geum-ja attempting to get people on the "O" side to go over to their side. After the vote, everyone from the group, aside from Min-su and Se-mi, sit in a circle and Gi-hun starts to share his plans on the rebellion.

During the special game after lights went out, everyone in the group hid under the beds, except for two members. Se-mi was killed by Nam-gyu after Min-su tried to save her to his best efforts. After the guards entered the room and started to check players for their deaths, the members of the group got to steal their weapons. In the process, In-ho saves Gi-hun from close death. Gi-hun then asks for volunteers for the rebellion, which Hyun-ju, Gyeong-seok, Dae-ho, Jung-bae, Byeong-su and In-ho join. The rest of the members chose not to join and wait in the dorm. With Gi-hun leading the rest of the players to the control room, he choses to go with Jung-bae to go further leaving the others behind. After they run out of ammo, Dae-ho goes to get them back while In-ho with Byeong-su and another player go join Gi-hun. While Gi-hun and In-ho reunite, the former gives ammo to In-ho and then the two split again. In-ho then shoots Byeong-su and the other player, while he is on the radio with Gi-hun to fake his death. Meanwhile, Hyun-ju goes back to the dorm to check where Dae-ho is, leaving Gyeong-seok and other players for themselves. Then, Gi-hun and Jung-bae chose to give up as they realise their slim chances of success and the Front Man appears. As the Front Man, In-ho, talks to Gi-hun, he then points the gun at Jung-bae and shoots him in front of Gi-hun. Meanwhile, Gyeong-seok and other players get cornered and shot.

Gi-hun's Team is a beloved friendship within the fandom as most fans want the group to succeed and win the game, and root for all of them to make it (even though it could not be done with all members). Usually in works and especially in AU's where no one dies everyone is shown to be friends, sometimes with pairings in the mix as well.
