Childhood Friend Romance - Like Phineas and Isabella, Baljeet and Ginger eventually get together as adults. Unlike Phineas and Isabella, it didn't take them 10 years to admit their feelings to each other. Pair the Smart Ones - Ginger oftentimes acts as the "brains" of The Fireside Girls, which is comparable to Baljeet as the official nerd of his friend group. Canon

Overview

Ginger Hirano has shown on a few occasions to have a crush on Baljeet Tjinder. However, the other Fireside Girls don't seem to respect her love for him, as they just don't understand it. They see Baljeet as kind of a dorky weirdo, who Ginger can do so much better than. Ginger still remains invigorated with Baljeet's knowledge and wit, listening to all of his nerdy talk about various scientific subjects. Likewise, Baljeet has kind of a thing for Ginger, feeling respected by her appreciation for his knowledge, a feeling of validation that he lacks from his other crush, Isabella. Over the summer, Baljeet and Ginger would grow closer together as friends, during the short and sparing times they spent together. In "Act Your Age", which takes place 10 years into the future, it is shown that Baljeet and Ginger did eventually become a couple as young adults. However, the story of how they got to such a place in their relationship remains completely unexplored.

Season 2

Isabella and the Temple of Tree Sap

Ginger was curious to see what Baljeet was doing, even though the other Fireside Girls did not share her interest. Ginger also claimed the "I Saw a Cute Boy Patch" twice, after seeing Baljeet. However, Isabella revoked it, as she didn't consider Baljeet to be cute.

Season 4

Happy New Year!

At the turn of the new year, Ginger and Baljeet danced together in the giant New Year's ball.

Bee Day

Baljeet talks to Ginger about the science of bumblebees, which she seems to take great interest in. Baljeet is also enamored with Ginger, telling Phineas to wait up with his invention, while he has his lovely conversation with Ginger. Unfortunately for Baljeet, Ginger gets turned into a bumblebee and flies away, leaving Baljeet alone.

Bee Story

Ginger remembers the things Baljeet said to her about bumblebees and tells the rest of the fireside girls what she learned. She learned about how bees communicate by shaking their butts in specific circular motions, which she explains to the girls in the form of the song "Waggle Dance". This information is useful to the girls, as it helps them to communicate with the other bees and fortificate the plot.

Night of the Living Pharmacists

Ginger announces Baljeet's arrival to The Fireside Girl Lodge. However, none of the other Fireside Girls find this to be noteworthy, once again, calling out Ginger for her weird obsession with Baljeet.

Act Your Age

In the future, Ginger and Baljeet are shown to now be an official couple. Ginger, however, is still mad at Baljeet for having previously dated Mishti in "That Sinking Feeling".

Fanon

Ginger and Baljeet's relationship is a largely underrepresented and overlooked pairing in the show, as they got very little screen time together, outside of a few moments and passing mentions of Ginger being in love with Baljeet. This gave way to little to no chemistry between the two. In fact, one of the only reasons the ship is so popular in the first place is that Ginger is one of the only characters in the show, who showed a romantic interest in Baljeet, meaning that if fans wanted to ship Baljeet with anyone, she was really the only option. Despite their underbaked love story, their shippers got what they wanted when Baljeet and Ginger were confirmed to get together in "Act Your Age". Rival ships include Balabella and Bujeet.
