Girlssandra is the femslash ship between Girlfriend and Cassandra from the Friday Night Funkin' and Pico's School fandoms.

Canon

Girlfriend and Cassandra, despite occurring from separate fandoms, have more traits in common then the fans let on. For starters, despite appearing as ordinary humans, they are supernatural species; Girlfriend is a demon whereas Cassandra is a Penilian, a breed of alien. Penilians and demons are known to have a disdain towards humanity and cause chaos for the sake of their amusement or selfish goals. Cassandra's desire to cause multiple mayhem is much more profound than Girlfriend's, along with her actions being much more aggressive and even life threatening. This is due to Cassandra being the perpetrator behind a school shooting and has ended the lives of many students, including her henchmen. Girlfriend, in contrast to Cassandra’s massacres, performed minor criminal activity, such as holding a restaurant hostage to get free food and the constant use of false IDs. They both undoubtedly do not regret their harmful actions.

It is presumed that Cassandra wears a human disguise to mask herself within humanity to ensure her plan of authoritarian rule in alliance with her planet. Girlfriend appears human unlike her parents due to the true love she has with Boyfriend. The two are supposedly powerful beings that carry powerful supernatural abilities. Cassandra bears the capability to shapeshift into her original form and become a boss level within the Pico’s School video game. Girlfriend is only seen in-game about to utilize her demonic abilities when provoked by armed soldiers, but is rescued by Pico. Girlfriend is known to have a wide range of demon magic, whereas Cassandra is only known to have one, that being shapeshifting. The two, despite being petite women, are capable of battle; Cassandra’s professional use of firearms and strong Penilian form overpower many and Girlfriend, confirmed by PhantomArcade, can easily defeat both Darth Vader and Sonic.EXE with the assistance of Boyfriend.

The “Light Feminine and Dark Feminine” trope plays here due to Girlfriend's brighter choice in attire and Cassandra’s interest in goth culture. A notable factor of a major difference between them is arguably their intelligence. Girlfriend is described as someone who is not the sharpest tool in the box and has performed many acts many would perceive as stupid; the developers of Friday Night Funkin’ confirmed themselves that she lacks an immense amount of intelligence, an example being she received constant hand me down phones from her parents and was barely smart enough to know how to use them. Cassandra is not directly confirmed to be intelligent, but it is perceived so due to her plan in blending in with humanity to begin a massacre that was nearly successful. This could infer that Penilians are smarter creatures than humans. It is currently unknown if Girlfriend had the use of drugs, considering that Cassandra has smoked weed at least once, but she does have one of her mother’s many henchmen buy her alcohol. Her small height is a symbol of her innocence as confirmed by PhantomArcade, so this could be the reason behind her lack of illegal substance use.

It's later confirmed by the developers of Friday Night Funkin' that Cassandra appeared in the background of Week 5, watching Girlfriend and Boyfriend in Boyfriend's rap battle against Girlfriend's parents. She's declared to have an eventual much bigger role in the upcoming weeks of the game.

Fanon

The current inspiration behind the shipping of Cassandra and Girlfriend is left to be theorized. Presumably, due to the slash pairing between Boyfriend and Pico, fans decided to pair Girlfriend either with Nene or Cassandra. The shipping between them could stem from the two being supernatural evil beings amongst the human world. The pairing can also be interpreted as an identical relationship between them and Keico, such as Girlfriend’s identical characterization to boyfriend and ditto for Cassandra and Pico. However, this ship is an intense rarepair within both fandoms. The pairing sparks the Pair the Spares trope due to Casandra and Girlfriend being shipped with either Boyfriend or Pico; when Keico became a popularized pairing, it left the remaining women in the cold, thus creating this specific ship.

In a fan-made mod for Friday Night Funkin’, Cassandra was an opponent in her own week with three songs. However, she is depicted as Girlfriend’s sister, thus greatly bringing negative attention to the romantic Girlssandra ship and upbringing false belief that the two are blood related and or governmentally tied in a familial obligation, such as adoption. • They both possess the ability to shapeshift and give themselves male genitalia.
  • This could be averted for Cassandra, for it's implied that she isn't actually female as Penitians are showcased to be a strictly male species. Nonetheless she goes by feminine pronouns and is referred to as a woman.
• Cassandra claimed that Penitians are gay, and one of their many reasons to destroy humanity was because of the homophobia on Earth, implying that Cassandra could be sexually attracted to women (or men, considering Penitians are a one-sex species). However, this was claimed in Pico's School: Love Conquers All, a game created for April Fools.
  • Albeit this, official art drawn by PhantomArcade depict Cassandra and Nene after a makeout, possibly making this statement regarding her sexuality canon.
