Let's Get Dangerous[]
Fenton calls Drake to tell him that he'd been going over something, but Drake says that they're kind busy right now. He asks to call him back and Fenton says sure, he's flexible. Unbeknownst to everyone else, being stretched out by Bushroots vines. He tries to contact Drake when they're being chased by the giant robot, but Drake says it's still not a good time.
He calls again while they're in the hideout and asks if it's a bad time. Drake tells him to give him a second while he scolds Gosalyn. They start discussing the ramrod, and Fenton explains that it's putting out so much energy it can only be used once more. Drake says that they need to be there when Bulba does so that they can find Waddlemeyer. Fenton says that he could be in reality, and the longer it's on, the more unstable reality gets. There's no safe way to bring Waddlemeyer back. Drake can't accept that, but Fenton says that's the reality. Drake falls asleep at the panel and ends up ending the call on accident.

As Fenton is freaking out over Gandra not contacting him, Launchpad tries to assure him that things are okay. Drake then tells him that they'll fill in where Gizmoduck has failed. Fenton awkwardly tries to defend Gizmoduck, but Drake says that he's not even there in Fenton's hour of need. Fenton is then forced to awkardly agree.Moments[]

- After Drake gives his big speech, which everyone ignores, Fenton introduces himself as Gizmoduck. He asks who Drake is, but Drake just gives an annoyed groan.

- Drake says that Fenton's talents are wasted making gadgets for Gizmoduck.
- Drake stops Dewey from calling Gizmoduck.

Gizmowing has fairly decent popularity in the DuckTales and Darkwing Duck fandoms. Some shippers find the dichotomy between Drake loving Fenton and hating Gizmoduck funny. Most art is often portraying this dynamic. As well as them secretly having crushes on each other in their superhero and civilian identities. It mostly gets overshadowed by ships such as Drakepad, Fenro, Morgwing and Fendra though.
On AO3, Gizmowing is the eighth most written ship for Drake and the fourth most written for Fenton.
