Gold Mango is the familyship between King Orange and Gold from the Animator vs. Animation fandom.

Canon

In King Orange's younger years, he and Gold played at a playground. In her present day, King Orange is remembering that as Gold comes back with corn dogs. King Orange and Gold okay fight with the corn dogs as swords. One day, the two went to a festival and went to tons of stalls. However, Gold noticed an advertisement for a game called Minecraft and begged his father to let him play. King Orange saw no harm and at the booth, signed the contract. Gold gets admitted him into a virtual reality booth which enabled someone to travel directly into Minecraft itself. King Orange reassures him as he enters. Gold spawns in a new world and while he is having fun, King Orange noticed an alarm going off and a glitch manifesting, corrupting the game. The programmers panicked and unsuccessfully tried to shut the simulation down. Seeing the world decay around him, Gold managed to exit the simulation, but the doors to the booth were sealed closed. Despite King Orange and the programmers' best attempts to pry them open, Gold was ultimately swallowed back into the game as it crashed, taking Gold with it.

King Orange fell to his knees as his whole world collapsed, the only person in his life that mattered was gone. The programmers attempted to console him, but his sorrow immediately turned into burning wrath, and he attacked them ruthlessly. Later, back at his home, he attacked a poster of Minecraft, feeling nothing but pure hatred for the game. He relives his son pleading for help as he was helpless, unable to do anything but watch.

This whole event is what lead to his antagonistic role in Season 3 of Animation vs. Minecraft.

Fanon

The ship is quite popular in the community. The ship grew instant traction after the release of the AvM Season 3 finale where Gold debuted. People loved seeing the father and son's relationship in the backstory and were heart broken seeing Gold perish. Fand started ti.make Fan fiction instantly to see what their life was before Gold's death. Due to Gold being a blank slate for people, lots of people used the two as they can make just about anything with them. Seeing that the Corruption returned in Season 5, fans hope that Gold isn't revived or reunited with King Orange as it'll ruin the impact of his death. Their rival ships are Purple Mango, the ship between Purple and King Orange, and Royal Purple, the ship between Purple and Navy.
