Pre-Curse[]
THE CROCODILE
Rumple goes to the docks to try and get Milah back from the pirates, when he's brought before the Captain, Killian Jones. Rumple recognizes him from when he was at the bar last night, and Jones says it's always nice to make an impression. He asks what Rumple is doing on his ship, and Rumple says that Hook has his wife. Jones says he's had many men's wives, but Rumple says that their son needs Milah. Jones says that he has a ship full of men that need companionship, and Rumple begs him to let Milah go. Jones says that he will, but Rumple will have to beat him in a fight first. A rusty sword is dropped in front of Rumple, and Jones mocks Rumple for his cowardice. Rumple asks what he'll tell his son, and Jones says to tell him that his father's a coward.
Years later, Rumple sees Jones at a bar. He hides himself in his cloak and bumps into him outside, Jones saying that gutter rats have more manners than him, but when Rumple shows him his face, Jones decides he looks more like a crocodile. Jones pushes him around a bit, but Rumple removes his cloak, Jones recognizing him from before. Rumple reveals that he's now the Dark One, scaring back Jones' crew. Jones wants to know what he wants, and Rumple asks how Milah is. Jones feigns ignorance, and Rumple says that digging out the memory will be pretty messy. Jones the reveals that Milah is dead, and Rumple decides he wants to finish their duel tomorrow at dawn. He suggests not trying to escape, as he will find Hook and gut his entire crew if he does.
The next morning, Jones arrives and Rumple drops a rusty sword in front of him. He tells him to pick it up, but Jones has his own, only for it to disappear. Rumple appears behind him with it and says that killing a man with his own sword was too good to pass up. They fight, and Rumple has his blade at Jones' neck, Jones saying he's ready for it. Rumple asks if Jones knows what it's like to have his wife stolen from him, as it feels like having your heart ripped from your chest. Rumple then reaches into Jones', only to stop when a woman appears...Milah.
Milah makes a deal to trade the magic bean for their lives and they all go to the Jolly Roger. However, Rumple becomes angry when he sees how Milah abandoned their son and him for Jones and pulls out her heart. He then crushes it, and kills her. Jones says that he's still a coward, and Rumple says that he'll take the bean now. Jones says he'll have to kill him first, but Rumple chops off his hand that holds the bean instead. He says that he wants Jones to suffer like he did, and Jones stabs him with a hook. Rumple says it will take more than that to kill him, and Jones says that even demons can be killed, he will find a way. Rumple wishes him luck in living long enough for it, and disappears in a cloud of smoke.
Rumple then finds out that Jones tricked him, and still has the bean. Jones then uses the bean to get to neverland, so that he can spend eternity searching for a way to kill the Dark One. He then uses a hook as a replacement for his missing hand.
