Goobwis is the slash ship between Michael "Goob" Yagoobian and Lewis Robinson from the Meet the Robinsons fandom.

Canon

The movie starts with baby Lewis being laid on the doorstep of Sixth Street Orphanage by an unidentified lady, the owner of the orphanage Mildred assumes that she was Lewis' birth mother. Lewis had been raised in the orphanage for twelve years, eventually becoming roommates with another orphan boy named Michael Yagoobian, whom everyone in the orphanage just calls "Goob". Goob willingly offers himself up as a lab rat for Lewis' experiments, the boy being a kid genius, but Lewis spending many nights studying and tinkering robs Goob of his sleep. When the latest couple shows up at the orphanage for an interview with Lewis, Goob is the one to tell Lewis that they arrived, also hoping that Lewis gets adopted very soon. However, his inventions failing every single time eventually causes Lewis to doubt that anyone would want him as their son, with Mildred trying to cheer him up by telling him that his birth mother might've loved him, entertaining the idea that she didn't have the resources to take care of him.

This gives Lewis the idea of finding her, starting with the only person who saw her when she gave him up: Baby Lewis. So he builds a memory scanner to try and scan the memory of what his mother must've looked like, the work taking multiple night of Lewis tinkering robbing Goob of any sleep and barely keeping himself awake. Unfortunately, it was the night before the big game of Goob's baseball team, making Goob miss the ball that would've given his team a win. Going back to their shared room after being beaten up by his own team, Goob stumbles into a strange adult man with a bowler hat looking for Lewis. Goob is not phased and tells him that Lewis is his "stupid" roommate and opens up about missing the game all because of Lewis to the stranger. Before trying to find Lewis in the future, the Bowler Hat Guy is sympathetic to the little boy's plight and tells him to never let go of his grudge against Lewis.

When all of the Bowler Hat Guy's attempts to kidnap Lewis fail, he uses the opportunity of Lewis being isolated from the family of his greatest rival, Cornelius Robinson, running away from his son Wilbur after finding out that Wilbur was lying to him about using the time machine to let him see his birth mother. The Bowler Hat Guy offers Lewis exactly what he asked for, Lewis turns against Wilbur when accepting the deal to fix the memory scanner. However, once the memory scanner is fixed, the Bowler Hat Guy reveals to Lewis that he's actually Goob, all grown up and having grown bitter when hearing how successful Lewis became, contrary to Goob never getting adopted due to his grudge on Lewis making him act out in front of every potential parent couple. Goob had grown up bitter and alone in the orphanage, still there after everyone abandoned it and had sworn revenge on Lewis. So he teamed up with DOR15, one of Lewis' failed prototypes of a "Helping Hat" companion who went rogue when she realized that she was wasting her potential and started mind-controlling the humans who used her. When Wilbur and the Robinsons' robot butler Carl catch up to them, DOR15 destroys Carl and Goob taking the memory scanner back to the past to sell as his own invention causes Wilbur to be erased from existence.

With the Robinson house getting corrupted by the altering of the timeline, DOR15 still sets up a memory scanner to show Lewis that she eventually came to view Goob as expendable and had him disposed of. With DOR15 mind-controlling the remaining Robinsons, Lewis is pressured into fixing the time machine that crashed when he and Wilbur arrived in the future. Using the time machine to convince Goob to not sell the memory scanner as his own, he also promises himself to never invent DOR15, erasing her from existence. Lewis then offers Goob a ride in the time machine and shows him the bad future he unintentionally caused with his actions, with Goob devastated that DOR15 would betray him like that. Just in time, the timeline is restored to its original state, with Wilbur coming back, though surprised that Lewis is with "the Bowler Hat Guy". Lewis takes offense to his friend being referred to as such and asks Wilbur if the Robinsons could give Goob the home he deserved. When Wilbur refuses, Lewis reminds him that he's his father and Wilbur should do what he says, but before Wilbur could offer Goob to become a Robinson, Goob had disappeared. Lewis finds the notepad Goob used to plan his revenge, only to find all steps of his plan crossed out and a question mark drawn at the end.

When Lewis is ready to return to his own time, he goes back a little more than necessary to ensure that Goob actually catches the last ball. Seeing Goob being celebrated as his team's hero frees Lewis off of his guilt and he goes to the science fair, catching the attention of Bud Robinson and his wife with his memory scanner. When the Robinsons adopt Lewis, he and Goob shake hands as Goob is doing an interview with another couple as he's impressing them with his 1st place trophy. Both boys wave goodbye to each other as they go their separate ways with their new parents.

Fanon

Goobwis is a rarepair in the fandom, most likely because the majority of the movie has a kid Lewis interact with an adult Goob. It still has a few fans for Goob's happiness literally depending on Lewis, along with being a unique Hero/Villain couple. If people ship it at all, they ship them as their kid selves at the orphanage.

Though the ending is unambiguously happy, some fans showed concern at Lewis altering the timeline to the point where the version of Goob that existed in the original timeline would cease to exist or at least have all of his memories of the time travel plot erased.
