Goronari is the slash ship between Gorou and Tighnari from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Although the two never met in canon, fans enjoy to ship them as a rarepair. They come to realize that the two have much similar personalities and characteristics than they came to realize. Although many may pair them for their canine characteristics along with other reasons, it is a rather unique pairing. When Tighnari’s unrevealed character was leaked to the fandom, it conjured fans to conclude and classify him as basically a “Dendro Gorou”. This is mainly due to their canine species and positions as chiefs and or generals. However, when Tighnari became an official character within the Genshin community, fans came to realize that the pairing have more in common than expected.
The prime example of their similar personality traits is their demeanor during their position as leaders. Many view them as unapproachable and have a difficult time forming friendships, when in reality both are very much capable and have formed friendly relationships with many, such as Gorou’s strong bonds with all his comrades. It even came up as surprising to most to discover their kindness behind their tough demeanor. It is fair to say that these two are very misleading upon first interaction. Although they may appear this way, they are very successful leaders and keep their groups organized and successful through their guidance.
Despite having similar characteristics, there are many traits that contrast with the other. Gorou is seen as an extroverted and playful character, whilst Tighnari is a tranquil individual and even kept some of his behavior within his work era. Tighnari prefers much more time to himself compared to the latter, who had formed very strong bonds with his troops. Gorou is much more of an adrenaline junkie and takes enjoyment from participating in battles and vigorous activities. Tighnari, on the other hand, prefers taking time to himself to research various topics regarding the forest and enjoys providing for his job even outside work hours.
Tighnari appears much more tolerant when it comes to sensitive topics compared to the latter, such as Gorou becoming uncomfortable and distant when it comes to others petting his ears, whilst Tighnari doesn’t mind as long as he built enough trust with them. Tighnari also has more problem solving abilities, such as Gorou resorting to fire whenever his tail is wet, whilst Tighnari produced a water proof oil to his own. Gorou also seem to care deeply about what other thinks about him, being careful to not embarrass himself in front of his troops. Tighnari shows no sign of this, speculating that he doesn’t hesitate to be himself to gain trust within his own group. Another major contrast is their intelligence. Not that Gorou is not smart, but Tighnari is a genius.
Although both are considered canines, Gorou has the biological connection to a dog whilst Tighnari is tied to the Fennec Fox. This explains their different behaviors in the animalistic perspective, such as Gorou’s tail being able to react alongside his emotions and his ability to talk to dogs. Tighnari lacks any of these characteristics, the only being his enhanced sense of smell and hearing along with his animalistic physical traits regarding his ears and tail.
Fanon[]
Some may ship this pairing due to the animalistic characteristics whilst others may do so for the reasons previously stated. Due to the drastically low attention it receives, it is considered a rarepair within the Genshin Impact fandom. This is due to the Cynonari and the KazuGorou and or IttoGorou ships easily overcoming it in numbers, along with the fact that they have never interacted. Another major reason could be that the two being separated in the regions Inuzama and Sumeru forming a long distance relationship if it were to be canon. There is a strong possibility that the two will never meet because of this for they have no reason to visit the other. The pairing currently has 25+ works on AO3.

Trivia[]
- Both are bow wielders.
- They were both considered generals at one point, but this only lasted until Tighnari found the title overbearing.
