Gosalyn Mallard is a character from the Darkwing Duck and DuckTales fandoms.

In this series, Gosalyn is the orphaned granddaughter of inventor Professor Waddlemeyer, and loses his grandfather when he is murdered by the minions of crime boss Taurus Bulba. Gosalyn, forced into an orphanage, is then targeted by these same thugs in search of the activation code for one of her grandfather’s inventions. This leads to her meeting Drake Mallard, alias Darkwing Duck, who was initially primarily concerned with stopping Bulba’s plots and adding to his own reputation. However, he and Gosalyn bonded in spite, or perhaps because of, their similarly strong personalities.
As such, after Bulba’s defeat, Drake-in his civilian identity-adopted Gosalyn and set about making a suburban home for the two of them and his sidekick Launchpad McQuack. However, Gosalyn was intent on remaining involved with her new dad’s crime-fighting career as well. She would thus insert herself, often over Drake’s protests, into Darkwing Duck’s adventures. Gosalyn would over drag her friend Honker Muddlefoot into proceedings, and occasionally adopt her own-usually short-lived-heroic persona.

In this series, Gosalyn is the apparently orphaned granddaughter of Doctor Waddlemeyer, who was viciously stranded in another universe by his former friend and business associate Taurus Bulba. Gosalyn’s attempts to expose Bulba and rescue her grandfather led to her meeting Drake Mallard, newly established in his role as the vigilante Darkwing Duck. Drake interfered in her efforts against Bulba, and she thus attempted to bully him into assisting her in the task. To Gosalyn’s frustration, Drake is reluctant, but he and Gosalyn eventually make a deal with the aid of Drake’s friends Launchpad McQuack and Dewey Duck.
Gosalyn’s suspicions are soon validated, and the group work together against Bulba. Unfortunately, Dewey soon ends up a prisoner of the scientist turned criminal, leaving the other three to face Bulba and his inter-dimensional supervillain allies. In the process, though Drake is somewhat more cautious than Gosalyn, she soon comes to see that he is dedicated to helping reunite her with her grandfather. She is thus appalled when Drake goes off on his own to confront Bulba and his minions.
Gosalyn and Launchpad go to Drake’s aid, and manage to gain access to the machine Bulba used to summon his allies and strand Gosalyn’s grandfather. With the machine growing increasingly unstable, drawing in Bulba’s allies and threatening to destroy their universe, Gosalyn makes the heartbreaking decision to destroy the machine. This saves the world but leaves her without hope of ever finding her grandfather again. However, Drake offers to enlist various scientists of Launchpad’s acquaintance in a continued effort to find Doctor Waddlemeyer.
To Gosalyn’s surprise and delight, Drake asks her to join him as his crime-fighting partner. Launchpad then forcibly adds himself to the arrangement, and the three become defenders of Saint Canard together. This also brings Gosalyn into the large circle of allies of Scrooge McDuck and his family, including Dewey. As such, she takes part in that circle’s efforts against the crime syndicate F.O.W.L.
