Gouie is the friendship between Louie Duck and Goldie O'Gilt from the DuckTales fandom.
Canon[]
Louie first meets Goldie at the opening of the Glomgold Wing of the Natural History Museum. Goldie arrives, and Scrooge tells the nephews that he's her ex. The boys tease him about this, and watch on as they dance together. Later, the boys ask for information on Scrooge's "date" with Goldie. Louie asks about Goldie becoming their new Aunt, and if that means that she'll shower them in gifts. His demeanor then shifts as he asks if Goldie is in Scrooge's will, a question which Scrooge brushes off.
In "The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck!", Scrooge decides to reinvigorate Louie's spirits by telling him a tale of his days in the Old West. Louie is at first bored, but he grows more interested as the story continues. At the end, Scrooge tells Louie that the moral of the story is that he should earn his wealth by being dedicated and resourceful, just like Scrooge himself was. He rhetorically asks if Louie would rather become rich by being "a shifty operator like Goldie", which Louie apparently takes to heart. He is later seen on the phone with Goldie, telling her that he wants to operate more "shiftily" and that he wants to learn how to do so from her.
In "Happy Birthday Doofus Drake!", Goldie finally makes good on her promise to teach Louie about being shifty. Scrooge warns Louie to not let Goldie get too close to him, but Louie blows him off. However, Goldie soon locks him in a chest in the triplets' room and begins to steal Louie's stuff. Louie starts to cry, saying that his dream is to become rich and famous, but Goldie instantly clocks that she's conning him. Impressed by Louie's attempts, Goldie decides to team up with him so they can get into Doofus Drake's birthday party.
When they arrive, Louie wants to take their gift bag (full of riches) and bolt. Goldie, however, says that as con artists they should be aiming to take everyone's gift bags home with them. When Louie asks how they'll do that, Goldie says she can't tell him upfront or he won't learn anything. She then admits that she also hasn't figured out a plan yet. Doofus arrives at his party and calls out everyone who was lying just to get a gift bag. Louie and Goldie are one of the last groups standing, alongside Flintheart Glomgold and his puppet "son", and Mark Beaks and B.O.Y.D. Louie decides they should expose the other two as liars as well, before running off with all of the giftbags. Goldie calls the plan "ambitious" and "dangerously over confident", but agrees to it.
Louie approaches the other guests and introduces Goldie as his aunt. Glomgold asks to see a picture of Louie, since an aunt would keep a photo of her nephew on hand. Louie rushes to a nearby photo booth, takes some pictures, then hugs Goldie to hide the fact that he's slipping the photos into her purse. They decide that they'll target Glomgold first, and they cook up a scheme that involves telling Glomgold's "son" that Goldie is attracted to Glomgold. After Glomgold is outed as a liar, they focus their attention on Mark Beaks and B.O.Y.D. next.
After revealing to B.O.Y.D. that he is a robot and causing him to go haywire, Doofus evicts Mark Beaks from the party. Goldie happily grabs Louie and lifts him into the air, congratulating him on his accomplishment. She suggests that they should team up on a "more permanent basis", which excites Louie. However, when Doofus comes over and demands to know who caused B.O.Y.D. to lose control, Goldie blames it on Louie. He tries to out her as a fraud, but she grabs his beak shut. Louie demands to know why she turned on him, and Goldie says that she doesn't work with others; she only works for herself. Goldie tries to send Louie home, but Doofus instead decides to punish him by hacking into B.O.Y.D. and using him to attack Louie. Goldie considers her options, but eventually decides to jump in front of Louie in a bid to protect her. Doofus then reveals that the whole scenario was a "test" to determine if Goldie truly was a loving parent. He declares that Goldie will become his new "Gummeemama", hands all of the gift bags over to Louie, and throws Louie out of the treehouse.

Louie seemingly decides to leave Goldie to her fate, packing up his gift bags and heading back towards McDuck manor. However, he has a change of heart and busts into Doofus' house demanding that he give back Goldie. He uses B.O.Y.D. to free Goldie, but when his back is turned she escapes with the gift bags. He returns home, where he is met by Scrooge. When Louie asks why Goldie would have saved him, Scrooge suggests that she might have let Louie get "too close" to her, causing her to develop familial feelings to him. It is then revealed that Goldie has kept the photographs of Louie from the party, as she slips one into her wallet alongside a photograph of a young Scrooge.
In "The Forbidden Fountain of the Foreverglades!", Goldie intends to run away with the water from the fountain of youth. However, when she sees the worried look on Louie's face she has a change of heart. She decides instead to fight to help Scrooge and his family, giving up her opportunity to be youthful forever.
Fanon[]
Fans took quickly to the friendship between Louie and Goldie, sensing the parallels between the two of them. They figured that Louie could learn a lot from Goldie, and that the two might actually help to make each other better people. Fans were also eager to see Louie befriend an adult that wasn't a family member, to parallel the Dewpad and Hueton friendships of his brothers. This friendship was especially enjoyed by Scroldie shippers, who saw Goldie taking Louie under her wing as a sign that she would be a wonderful Great Aunt to the boys if she and Scrooge ever married.
There are currently over 100 works on AO3 for this ship. It is Louie's fourth most popular ship, and Goldie's second most popular.
