Greased Lightning is the non-binary ship between Greaseball and Electra from the Starlight Express fandom.

Wembley Park Theatre[]
As the race is about to be called, Electra enters with their components. They explain that they are the future, and they're superior to every other engine, which Greaseball interrupts. She then comes down and explains why she's the champion as Electra and their components watch. Once she's finished she calls Electra overloaded, but they say that electric will be taking over. Greaseball says they'll have to beat her, and Electra says that they'll be entering the race. They intend to win, but Greaseball says that they never will.
As the trains are getting hyped for the final race, Electra comes forward and calls out Greaseball for keeping Dinah around. Greaseball insists that everyone knows how fast she is, which Electra gets offended by. They say that diesel the past and that electric is the future. They call themselves the line of least resistance, but Greseaball says they'll get left far behind. They then both try and get the other partners to join their side before skating off.
For the re-run of the final heat, the two both fuel up beside each other before the race begins. The two keep ending up neck and neck as the race starts, with Greaseball stopping them both to confront Electra. She tells them to give it up, but Electra says that their future is inevitable. They get into a physical fight, but stop when they see Rusty has surpassed both of them. They then end up crashing into Slick, and the three of them get stuck together.

Greased Lighting is a popular ship in the StEx fandom. With many fans liking the rival aspect of their dynamic. The ship is less popular among fans of the West End revival. Mostly due to Greaseball being gender swapped, and making her relationship with Dinah still canon. Its rival ships are GreaseDinah and Electraboose. On AO3, Greased Lighting is the second most written ship for both Greaseball and Electra. It is also the third most written ship in the Starlight Express tag. There are currently 55+ written works.
