Groozelink is the poly ship between Link, Zelda, and Groose from The Legend of Zelda fandom.

Canon[]

Groose, Cawlin, and Strich hop onto their Loftwings and pursued the Crimson Loftwing and managed to trap it in a small cave behind the waterfall. Zelda sends her blue Loftwing to deliver a letter to Link to meet her at the Goddess Statue and Link travels there after a while. Zelda is playing her harp, and she is happy to see him, and she is concerned about him and the Wing Ceremony and that he might not perform well. She insists that he must practice, but Link tries to tell her that he doesn't sense his Loftwing anywhere, but Zelda does not believe him and pushes him off the island, but when Link whistles, his Loftwing does not appear leading to Zelda to realize her mistake and comes to his rescue. She is apologetic over not listening to him and putting him in danger and her father opts to delay the Wing Ceremony until Link finds his Loftwing. Link later learns from the conversations between Groose and his friends and confronts them. Groose immediately picks on him about his Loftwing and makes his jealousy over his relationship with Zelda known as she would choose Link over him, only for Zelda to arrive and stand up to him for his behavior and Groose briefly softens up around her before snapping out of it and leaving on his Loftwing with his friends. Zelda insists that Link ask around for any information on his missing Loftwing and the two of them end up finding it behind the waterfall after being tipped by Fledge and Pipit. Zelda gives him the basics on flying to help him get the hang of it before the Wing Ceremony picks up. Groose confronts Link about getting special treatment of the delay to get it back while muttering about having a special moment with Zelda, before the latter overhears and feigns his pride towards Link for finding it, to her disbelief. Despite Groose's attempts to stop Link from getting the Bird Statuette, the latter succeeds and is able to move on to his senior year. However, during a ride with Zelda, a black tornado appears and pulls down Zelda while Link is blown away. The following day after meeting Fi, the sword spirit, Groose is distraught over Zelda's disappearance and spends time in his room while blaming Link for the events.

During Link's first visits in the last two provinces, he has very brief interactions with Zelda, but her time was too tight for them to fully interact, and the second time was when Ghirahim attacked at the Temple of Time, though Zelda, along with Impa managed to escape with the latter bombing the Gate of Time to deter Ghirahim from following them. Groose ends up joining Link unexpectedly when he returns to the Sealed Grounds and is flabbergasted by how different the Surface was from Skyloft. He meets with the old sage to talk about Zelda, but she drops the bomb when he was told that only the chosen hero can perform such a task, to Groose's annoyance, but a very tense confrontation with the Imprisoned has led Groose to conclude that he can't be a hero though the old sage assures him that he will have a role. While Link gathers the Sacred Flames to power up the Master Sword to open the second Gate of Time, Groose spends time constructing a catapult and its railroad and when interacted with, he states that it's not ready yet and refuses to give any more details. After Link powers the Goddess Sword into the Master Sword, he attempts to open the Gate of Time, but he and Groose have to stop the Imprisoned who is breaking out for the second time and managed the defeat it again. Groose acknowledges Link as a friend and tells him to say hello to Zelda. While in the past era, Link is finally able to speak with Zelda again, who grants the Master Sword its final evolution into the True Master Sword before going into a crystalized sleep to keep Demise's seal intact.

After Levias is freed from Bilocyte, Link and Groose fight the Imprisoned once more before Link travels to the provinces to meet with the Dragon deities to get their pieces of the Song of the Hero. After doing completing them and going through Sky Keep, Link wishes for Demise's destruction which results in the Goddess Statue detaching itself from Skyloft and lands on top of the Imprisoned who is trying to escape, crushing it, allowing Zelda to be free from her stasis and reunites with them briefly, only for Ghirahim to ambush them and kidnap Zelda to use her as a sacrifice to Demise. Groose tries to protect the old sage and block the way, only to be cast aside and takes Zelda with him. Despite Link's best efforts to stop the ritual, it was completed, and Zelda was drained of her energy and cast aside by the revived Demise, but is caught by Groose, who informs him that there is still hope in saving Zelda. After Link destroys Demise, Zelda is revived and she, Link, and Groose say good-bye to Impa, who stays behind to watch over the Master Sword. Upon returning to their era, they find that the old sage was actually Impa the entire time, before she disappeared, much to their sadness. Zelda's father as well as Cawlin and Strich arrive at the Surface to greet them. While Groose returns to Skyloft, Link and Zelda stay on the Surface to watch over the Triforce.

Fanon[]

Groozelink is not as common as the Groolink, Grooselda, or the Zelink ships, but their fanfics as the threesome do indeed exist and do have a sizable fanbase. Fans have loved their relationship with each other and some of them could not decide what to ship one character with another and would end up shipping all three of them together. Groose has a crush on Zelda, who does not have an interest in him and has a strong bond with Link, who also returns it while he and Groose would end up becoming friends in the long run. Stories have them put aside their differences in these stories to give both Link and Groose a chance and peacefully end their quarrels.
