Guazco is the slash ship between Kuzco and Guaka from The Emperor's New Groove fandom.

Canon[]

Overview[]

Guaka first met Kuzco when the latter was dethroned as emperor and sent back to Kuzco Academy. Even though Guaka had already graduated by that point, he re-enrolled at the school as a student just so that he could get closer to Kuzco. Guaka was an adoring sycophant to Kuzco throughout high school, obeying his every word and supporting his every endeavor. Although Kuzco would occasionally get annoyed with Guaka's clinginess, he did appreciate how he was one of the only people who saw the true greatness in him and went along with everything he said and did. Guaka usually refers to Kuzco as "sir" and repeatedly announces "Kuzco rules!" as his catchphrase.

The Emperor's New School[]

In "Guakumentary", Guaka helped Kuzco to make his documentary on himself to be voted coolest kid in the school. Guaka would walk around, carrying a camera on his head to record him. Kuzco was really mean and abusive to him the entire time and didn't give him any thanks for the hard work he did. In fact, he refused to even acknowledge Guaka as a person, treating him like a nameless servant. Out of revenge, Guaka edited Kuzco's documentary to make him look horrible, which made it so that nobody voted for him. Kuzco apologized to Guaka for treating him poorly by being the one and only person to vote for him as the coolest kid in school. Guaka was so glad that Kuzco did this, that he hugged him.

In "The Emperor's New School Spirit", Guaka came to Kuzco's defense when he was being laughed at for his comedic underwear exposure. Guaka mentioned to the entire crowd that he bought underpants with rainbow hearts on it for Kuzco's birthday, which only embarrassed Kuzco even more.

In "The Emperor's New School Musical", Guaka presented a song for the Kuzco Academy musical, where he played the ukulele and sang a song about Kuzco. His song detailed how he would choose Kuzco over anything else in the world.

In "Vincent Van Guaka", Guaka was sad and upset about not being good at drawing like his father and instead wanted to be a muck slinger. Although he was hesitant about it at first, Kuzco eventually went on to help him change and become a better artist. However, it would turn out in the end that Guaka was just the best at muck slinging, which was his true life passion.

In "Project Poncho", Guaka invented a glorious poncho that doubled as a hot air balloon for a fashion contest, while Kuzco did nothing but build a statue of himself and put glow sticks and glitter on a poncho, making something incredibly tacky. Kuzco asked Guaka if he could use his poncho and Guaka happily obliged. Kuzco presented Guaka's poncho for the contest and won but the judges knew that Guaka actually made it, which meant that he got the prize after all, which was a couples' trip to Lima. Guaka took Kuzco out for a romantic canal ride in Lima, which Kuzco was less than pleased about.

In "Guaka Rules", Guaka admitted that he had already graduated from high school and only attended the school again so that he could be closer to Kuzco, which Kuzco noted was incredibly creepy. After Guaka became emperor, he made Kuzco his loyal servant and bossed Kuzco around, the same way Kuzco always used to boss him around. Kuzco was even forced to call Guaka "sir".

In "Everyone Loves Kuzco", Kuzco took a potioned turkey that made him irresistible to all of the women at the school. Guaka was amazed that Kuzco was able to get Curi, Cuca, and Cuxi crawling all over him, thinking that he ruled now more than ever before. Even though he wasn't a woman, Guaka was one of the people who chased Kuzco around the school.

In "Graduation Groove", Kuzco makes Guaka his head publicist.

Fanon[]

The relationship between Guaka and Kuzco has a lot of Ho Yay elements to it, with Guaka's infatuation with Kuzco seeming very much like a crush. Some episodes make it even more overt than others that Guaka is in love with Kuzco, even if it's not outright stated. Some have even speculated that Guaka is queer-coded, considering he's never exhibited any attraction toward anyone else, let alone any girls, and plenty of things he's said and done have alluded to a romantic and/or sexual attraction toward Kuzco. Guaka's tendency to call Kuzco "sir" mirrors another famous Ho Yay ship in the cartoon community, the relationship between Marcy and Peppermint Patty from Peanuts. All of these borderline gay elements of Kuzco and Guaka's relationship give shippers plenty of fuel to make love stories about them being together as boyfriends.

Guazco has only 1 tag on AO3.
