GumiRin is the femslash ship between Kagamine Rin and GUMI from the Vocaloid fandom.
Canon[]
Rin and GUMI are both characters from the software Vocaloid. They don't have a official relationship as they are Vocaloids. People can have their own headcanons about their relationship. Rin and Gumi have the disadvantage of being from different companies (Crypton and Internet Co. respectively). Even so, Rin and Gumi concide in some official media such Project MIRAI.
Songs[]
Rin and GUMI have a nice amount of songs together, as both are some of the most popular Vocaloids. Their most popular songs are "1, 2 Fanclub" by mikitoP, "LUVORATORY" by Giga and Reol, and "Invisible" by kemu. 1, 2 Fanclub is about Rin and Gumi wanting to learn Chinese in order to say "wǒ ài nǐ" (I love you) to the person that they admire. LUVORATORY, that talks about Rin and GUMI's experiences in a disco party. Invisible is about a charcter called Souhei Shima that can become invisible and make people forget about his existence, so he completely dissapears at the end.
They don't have many romantic songs together, but they have some. "First Love Academy" is a song where GUMI is a boy and both "him" and Len are love with Rin. Len is a shy and unpopular boy who has little courage to confess himself to Rin while GUMI is very popular and girls are jealous of Rin. At the end, Rin doesn't seem to be interested in either of them and she doesn't choose anyone. There also some songs like Peperon-P's "Chemical Emotions" and Muhmue's "Always and Forever" where it is a bit ambiguous if the song is about Rin and GUMI expressing their feelings for each other or about them expressing their feelings for another person. Fanon[]
GumiRin started because the big amount of songs sung by the two. Even so, GumiRin tend to by overshadowed by more popular ships like MikuRin and Gumiku. In AO3 GumiRin has 30+ works, being the 4th most writted for both GUMI and Rin. In Japan the ship is more popular and there are 930+ works of the ship, being more popular than MikuRin. It is often paired alongside Negitoro.
