Gumiku is the femslash ship between Hatsune Miku and GUMI from the Vocaloid fandom.

Canon

GUMI and Miku are both characters from the voice synthesizer Vocaloid. They don't have any official personality or background as they are Vocaloids. They are also from different companies, Crypton and Internet Co. respectively. Miku and GUMI's relationship depends on the song that they sing together. Despite being from different companies, they appear together in some media, like Project MIRAI.

Songs

Being the two most popular Vocaloids, GUMI and Miku have a big amount of duets together. Even so, there aren't many romantic songs of this couple. Their more notable song is Hachi's "Matryoshka", a song with very crazy and absurd lyrics, that give the song an ambiguous meaning. Other very notable song is "Brain Fluid Explosion Girl" by rerulili, which is actually the most viewed Vocaloid duet on YouTube. The song talks about a girl, called Noka, who prostituted herself to pay for singing lessons, and after starting her job began to bully her. Then another girl called Saori went to defend her and after that she told her about the rumors about her. Some other popular GUMI and Miku songs are:

A very well-known Miku and GUMI songs producer is Masa. He often makes songs of them about explicit themes. His most popular song is "Soap Lagoon", that talks about prostitution. He also composed a song series called "Onibi Series", that has cannibalism topics. The first song in the series is "The Spider and the Kitsune-like Lion", which tells the story about a clan, the Shishikusa Clan, that resides in Castle Town, and the leader, Ryou Shishikusa (GUMI) runs a theater performed by kidnapped women. One day Akari (Miku), one of the kidnapped girls cursed Ryo for kidnapping her, and because of that, Ryou killed Akari stabbing her. As revenge, Akari's spirit used her brother's body to force Mai, Ryou's daughter, to eat human flesh. Akari's Curse becomes real, and Mai ended up eating Ryou, her mother and even more people from Castle Town, and she was eventually beheaded for all. Other popular Masa songs are:

Fanon

Gumiku is a semi-popular ship in the Vocaloid fandom. Despite not being that popular as other Miku ships, their big amount of songs motivated some people to ship them. There are 88+ works of this couple in AO3. This makes Gumiku the most written ship for GUMI and the 5th for Miku. Curiously, one of the many theories about Matryoshka's meaning is that Miku and GUMI are lesbians who are discriminated by society.
