HakSeong is the slash ship between Ji Hakho and Keum Seongje from the Weak Hero fandom.
Canon[]
Jake Ji (Ji Hakho in the Korean version) is the head of Daehyeon High School. Wolf Keum (Keum Seongje in the Korean version) is the head of Ganghak High School. Both of them are executives of the Yeongdeungpo Union.
Chapter 87
Jake Ji is on the rooftop of a building next to Pass Edu and had watched the fight between Gray Yeon (Yeon Sieun in the Korean version) and Wolf. The unexpected result of Wolf and Gray's fight brought confusion to the Shuttle Patch Ranking. Wolf, one of the highest in the ranks, was defeated by a newbie. Wolf is not only top in terms of rankings, but he is also notorious enough to surpass Jake.
Chapter 103
After hearing about Wolf's defeat, Donald Na (Na Baekjin in the Korean version) recalls how there aren't a lot of people who can take him on. Of the three people he considers, one of them is Jake.
Chapter 145
Donald Na (Na Baekjin in the Korean version) asks Wolf which companies he's in charge of, and Wolf answers KHG, Daegwang Industries, and Jeongil Logistics. Donald tells him Jake will be in charge of Daegwang from now on and tells Wolf he can leave. Wolf leaves with Hwangmo Ju. He recalls how Jake was absent from the assembly because he was acting like Donald's lapdog.
Chapter 155
Wolf wonders how well Jake kissed Donald's ass to be given what's already been distributed to others. He orders Hwangmo to tell Naksung to tip him off when Jake is on the move.
Chapter 157
After collecting money from the companies Ganghak is in charge of, Wolf asks Hwangmo if they're done for the day. Hwangmo informs him that Naksung texted him that Jake is on the move. Wolf goes to find him and dismisses the two when they try to follow him.
Chapters 158 to 160
Wolf watches Jake enter Magyeong Construction. Jake approaches the CEO, Yongbae Jo, to discuss Daegwang. Wolf thinks it is nothing but another mission for a lapdog. After Jake defeats Mr. Jo's thugs, Mr. Jo calls Jaeryeong Lee who brings Cheongang's Action Squad. Wolf also enters not long after then and locks the door. He takes off his glasses and is ready to join the fight.
Wolf and Jake defeat Cheongang. Wolf grabs Mr. Jo and is about to beat him up too, but Jake stops him. Wolf surprisingly agrees once Mr. Jo gives them the files.
Chapter 161
Jake asks Wolf if Donald ordered him to tail him. Wolf says he isn’t sticking around the Union to be Donald’s lapdog. Jake tries to give the documents to Wolf so he can take Daegwang back, but Wolf laughs and says Jake hasn’t figured Donald out. Wolf says since Cheongang is involved, the Union will have to go through one hell of a mess to get everything sorted out.
Later, Donald leaves his office with Kingsley Kwan (Kwon Seokhyeon in the Korean version), having received the files from Jake earlier. Donald recalls Jake telling him that he thought it’d be too much to handle alone so he had Wolf go with him, but Donald knows that Wolf wouldn’t have gotten himself involved just because Jake told him to.
Chapter 197
After Wolf defeats the Cheongang Number Three, Giju Seol, despite there being a deal between the Union and Cheongang, Wolf recalls that there are too many assholes that have pissed him off to count. He remembers the Mok-Ha Duo and Gray. He checks his phone and sees all the missed calls from Donald and Hwangmo. He has had enough of Donald's money games and is done with the Union. He remembers Jake, who is always looking down on him, and Wolf intends on fighting him.
Chapter 230
When Wolf arrives at the meeting between Eunjang and their allies for the fight against the Union, Wolf claims he is just repaying a personal debt to Phillip for paying for Ganghak's meal in the past, and that he has personal business with Jake.
Chapter 235
At the Han River, Wolf arrives before the fight begins. He loudly says he forgot to give Jake the Daegwang files and sets it on fire in front of everyone. Donald is pissed off by the action. Wolf tells Jake that there is something they still need to confirm and Jake calls Wolf a wild bastard.
Chapter 241-243
The battle between Eunjang and their allies against the Union begins. Jake asks Wolf if he's warmed up now. Wolf tells him to stop fucking around and to fight for real. Jake warns him that he might kill him. Wolf charges at Jake and punches him in the torso while telling him to kill him.
Jake blocks Wolf’s punch and warns Wolf that he’s gonna get fucked. Wolf sets his glasses down and tells Jake he’s done being someone’s dog. He says he’s quitting the Union and wants to fight Jake before he goes. Jake tells him compared to fighting with Eunjang, he’s more comfortable fighting him.
As they fight, Jake says he looks down on Wolf because he considers Wolf to be below him. He delivers a powerful kick to Wolf’s torso, causing him to spit out some blood. Wolf is quick to recover and grabs Jake by his jacket and punches him multiple times in the face. Just like when he had grabbed Seongmok, Wolf takes Jake below the mire and into the deep abyss that he loves; but, Jake doesn’t try to escape the abyss. In fact, he, too, becomes a crocodile and begins to roll.
Jake strikes Wolf with what he thinks is the final blow, but Wolf immediately gets back up. Jake is shocked that Wolf got back up like it is nothing, despite getting clobbered over and over again. Jake thinks if he really wants to beat Wolf, he might have to kill him. Wolf is noticeably no longer smiling and his right eye is swollen and not as fully open.
Ganghak has never seen Wolf clenching his teeth and actually trying to beat someone before. In a flashback, Myles Joo (Joo Seungjin in the Korean version) tells Jake he doesn’t want to fight Wolf again because there are things that he will only think about but never do, but Wolf does them in his own way. The flashback ends.
Jake thinks fighting Wolf gives a vicarious thrill, just like fighting Ben. Wolf kicks Jake in the side and grabs his jacket yet again. He goes for the face but Jake catches Wolf’s wrist. Jake tells Wolf that he’s near his limit and Wolf’s fighting style gets old fast. Their fight continues and in the end, Jake defeats Wolf.
Fanon[]
HakSeong is one of the most popular ships in the Weak Hero webtoon fandom. It has many more fanarts compared to fanfiction. Jake is one of the few people who is able to defeat Wolf. He also enjoys fighting, a similarity he shares with Wolf. They are the top two strongest fighters in the Union right after Donald.
It's surprising how Wolf actually listens to Jake when the latter tells him to stop and not beat up Mr. Jo. Wolf, who is impulsive, always follows his instincts and does whatever he wants, actually listens to Jake and stops. At that point in the story, he has even fought Donald Na.
Fans also ship them because of their contrasting personalities. Wolf is someone who enjoys violence and bullying others. Jake is considered a good person compared to the rest of the Union and only joined because he needed to avenge Kenny. Wolf has no friends but Jake has genuine friends who will fight to the death alongside him.
