HalCarol is the het ship between Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris from the DC Comics and DC Super Hero Girls fandoms.
Canon[]
Carol Ferris has been featured as Hal's love interest in Green Lantern comics and medias. Like most heroes in love with a civilian, Hal kept Carol in the dark of him being Green Lantern despite the encounters she has had with his hero self. She is one of the reasons why Hal wears a mask to hide his identity, while other Green Lanterns never saw the need for one for such a reason. Despite the two being boss and employee at Ferris Aircraft and how these kind of relationships are frown upon in the work placement world, Hal and Carol wouldn't help but fall in love with one another. Even though Carol tends to scold Hal for being a loose cannon and his history of disobeying orders rules into to achieve success. Carol eventually finds out Hal's secret and after she too became a lantern, however, the love energy from her pink Star Sapphire ring consumed her. Making Star Sapphire one of Green Lantern's enemies, even though some versions do have Carol fighting off her ring's strong side affects or gives it up. Even with both of them as Lanterns, the two have fallen into a pattern of breaking up and ending up together again, before something else gets them to be off and then on again.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series[]
The series' first scene of Earth is of Carol staying in touch with Hal as he tests one of her company's plains, even though he ends up destroying it to save some people as Green Lantern. Carol has had a few encounters with Green Lantern, who has told her a few things about him and his ring, but Hal couldn't tell her that he and the green colored hero are one of the same. Which is why Hal was forced to tell Carol a lie as to how the plain got destroyed and has to put his plans of taking Carol out to dinner on hold. Despite the many times Carol has told them why a relationship between them won't work, Hal doesn't let it stop him from believing that they can make it work, from the times Carol has been shown to worry and care about him. When he was called upon by the Guardians of the Universe and even though Hal did attend to return to Earth to share a meal with Carol, he couldn't ignore the danger of the Red Lanterns from Frontier Space. His haste to stop them, however, kept him from thinking about contacting Carol with another cover story as to why he won't be at work of last.
Leading Carol to believe that Hal was dead when the search party she sent out for him turned up with nothing. Not long after Carol was given the no results news of Hal's whereabouts, a pink Star Sapphire ring appeared before her. Once Queen Aga'po had uncovered the reason why Hal Jordan wasn't falling in love with Gi'ata, she planned to use Carol as a means to place Hal with the other men her Sappires have trapped in pink colored crystal. Hal was surprised to see Carol and that she is now a lantern, while Carol was surprised to learn that Hal was Green Lantern all this time. The moment she saw Gi'ata, however, Carol got the wrong idea and tried to attack her, while Hal defending Gi'ata from her only fouled Carol's suspicion. Along with her being angry of how Hal's disappearance got her to believe that he as dead, as the ring's strong love energy consumes her. Luckily Hal was able to prove his love to Carol by giving her the chance to kill him but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Hal kissing Carol allowed her to calm down and regain her senses. Gi'ata had offered Carol the chance to always keep Hal with her, but the way she said it has made it sound more like imprisonment than love. Leading to Carol to give up her ring, as she doesn't need one to stay with Hal. He promises Carol that he'll explain everything once he and his team have stopped the Red Lanterns, and that they'll have that dinner date he promised her before Carol was sent back to Earth. Where she is waiting for Hal's return.
When Hal needed a quite way back to Oa, he turns to the Star Sapphires in hope that they'll be able to use his feelings for Carol to bring him back to Earth; where he'll be able to travel back to Oa from there. Even though Hal's plan had worked he had lost his memory of being a Green Lantern and takes Carol out to dinner. Who does remember what had happened to her and realised that something was off with Hal. Luckily Green Lantern had told her that his ring needs to recharge and hopes that Hal using his power battery would boost back up his memories like a computer. Which it does, but remembering his reasons for returning back to Earth got Hal to realise that he needs to return back to Oa before it was too late. Carol now knowing his secret made it easier as it meant that he no longer has to lie to her and that she appears to be supportive of him being a hero. Despite her feels for Hal she is also his boss and his time away meant that she was forced to fire him. She informs Hal of this after he got back from defeating Atrocitus. Even Carol had appeared to be supportive of Hal being Green Lantern, she soon realised that his duties to the Green Lantern Corp would allows get in the way and that she doesn't want to be in an complicated relationship. Resulting in her breaking up with Hal, who was saddened by this but knew that she was right.
Carol soon finds herself getting thrown back into the world of Lanterns when she was brought back to Zamaron to serve as their Champion of Love in a battle with Atrocitus as the Champion of Hate. To prove to Aya that love is strong than hate. Learning that Carol was Hal's true love gave Atrocitus satisfaction, as destroying her would deeply harm Hal Jordan. Luckily Carol remembered her ring's ability to summon the person she loves and used her feelings for Hal to call upon his. Seeing Carol in danger through the open portal got Hal to come to her aid as they fight Atrocitus. Hal was pleased to see Carol again and to learn that she still has feelings for him, even though she jokes about her love choice being him or her old high school prom date. Despite Gi'ata's tragic death when she scarified herself to save Hal and Carol, the two were back to being a couple again and Carol decided to keep her ring to honor Gi'ata, before she returns back to Earth again.

Much like how AquaMera is the main ship of the Aquaman fandom, HalCarol has been considered as the main ship between the two characters in the Green Lantern fandom of the DC Comics universe. Even though Hal x Carol have faced similar struggles that Clark x Lois and Bruce x Selina have undertook. Despite the occasions where Carol's ring has turned her into a villain, some fans want her to keep her ring so she and Hal could be together as a Lantern hero duo of Will and Love on Earth. Just as they hope that the two will be given a happy ending and stay together.
Some DCSHG fans were sad that moments between them in the 2015 web series were limited and didn't give them an HalCarol episode. Just as many weren't too happy of the way their characters and former relationship was featured in its 2019 reboot. Even thought fans of both the cartoon series and DC ship still wanted them to work things out.
