HalfDain is the slash ship between Dainsleif and Halfdan from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
In Requiem of the Echoing Depths, Halfdan appeared in front of the Traveler and Dainsleif when the Traveler was killing Black Serpent Knights which were attacking them and stopped the Black Serpent Knights- Dainsleif recognized Halfdan, one of Khaenri'ah's Elite Guards. Dainsleif then recalls that during the Cataclysm, he ordered Halfdan to tell all the knights to protect the common folk at all costs, and believes that although the knights are under the curse of Khaenri'ah, they still remember his final orders. They then climb the summit to find a water structure which weakens the curse. Halfdan follows them and urges them to follow him, where they are lead to a hilichurl camp.
After the Traveler decides to help Dainsleif, they leave the hilichurl camp. Heading back to the temple, a Abyss Herald tells them that they are going to 'cleanse the curse' of the hilichurl, knights and Dainsleif, which will only bring suffering and pain for them. Reaching the summit, they find a Abyss Lector carrying out the ritual to cleanse the curse, causing all the hilichurls, Black Serpent Knights and Dainsleif to suffer. Halfdan then rushes in, with Dainsleif shouting "Halfdan, no!" , with Halfdan then covering the device with his body. Dainsleif is impressed with how he didn't turn to ash once he comes in contact with the device, and tells the Traveler to destroy the device.
When the Traveler comes back, Dainsleif checks if Halfdan is truly dead. He walks away slowly after finding that Halfdan has died, but Halfdan's soul appears before him. Dainsleif turns to him, surprised. Halfdan then apologizes for failing him since he couldn't protect the people, with Dainsleif then complimenting him, saying that he has done a great job and that he is proud of all the knights. Halfdan asks him if Khaenri'ah has fallen, since Dainsleif is still there. Dainsleif said 'yes' but he didn't lie as Halfdan knows Khaenri'ah fell as he witnessed. Halfdan then smiles and fades away, with Dainsleif saying, "No need to revive the kingdom".

In the fandom, not many fans know of this ship making HalfDain a rarepair within the Genshin Impact fandom. Although not many know of this ship, there are some supporters of this ship. Fans have started shipping HalfDain because of the quest In Requiem of the Echoing Depths. This is where they first interacted.
