Hand Brothers is the family ship between Master Hand and Crazy Hand from the Super Smash Bros. fandom.

Canon[]

Crazy Hand first appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee, one game after Master Hand's introduction. Master Hand is already a tough boss by himself, but with Crazy Hand around, the boss battle gets more difficult and complex.

Super Smash Bros. Melee[]

To fight Crazy Hand, one must beat the Classic Mode in normal difficulty, beating Master Hand alone. Upon reducing Master Hand to half of his health, Crazy Hand will appear at full health.

Outside of the Classic Mode, there's also Event Match 50, "Final Destination Match", in which the player has to fight both of them at the same time with the same health.

Crazy Hand's trophy calls him Master Hand's "alter ego". It directly contrasts them by saying that Master Hand loves to create, but Crazy Hand is filled with that hollow feeling of destroying your own creations.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

Brawl has a few differences to Crazy Hand's appearance in comparison to Melee. Just like Melee, one has to beat Classic Mode on "normal" difficulty in order to be able to battle Crazy Hand. Unlike Melee, the two hands are battled at the same time and have the same amount of HP.

Crazy Hand's trophy mostly repeats the same information his Melee trophy gave, however it adds that those who face both of them at the same time are in for a long and painful battle to the death.

Unlike Master Hand, Crazy Hand does not appear in the Subspace Emissary, despite his trophy being sorted there.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS[]

The twist the fourth game adds to the Master Hand & Crazy Hand battle is that Crazy Hand can be fought alongside Master Hand right away by setting the intensity of the Classic Mode above 3.0. Setting it above 5.1. however has the fight be interrupted by Master Hand tearing himself apart and forming the Master Core, with Crazy Hand disintegrating.

In addition to the Classic Mode, Master Hand and Crazy Hand are also the hosts of the Wii U exclusive "Special Orders" modes. In those, the players have to complete said orders for either of them, then having a chance to fight both of them at the same time again. Master Hand and Crazy Hand will drop presents containing rewards before their battle.

Crazy Hand's trophy states that combined with Master Hand, they are a "dangerous foe". It also warns the player to prepare themselves for an intense battle as their laughter fills the air.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

Ultimate would make some major changes to the classic formula. It adds a health bar to both Master Hand and Crazy Hand, which means that for the first time in the series, they don't share the same HP.

It also allows Crazy Hand to fight some fighters (namely Falco and Ken) by himself. In addition, Red and Pikachu are the only ones facing Master Hand by himself. However, fighting both of them together is still the default for a majority of the fighters.

In World of Light, Master Hand and Crazy Hand are depicted as something closer to a species, making up the armies of Galeem and Dharkon. For specifics, Galeem is surrounded by an army of Master Hands, Dharkon controls an army of Crazy Hands, this fits their motivations, as Galeem wants to create the perfect world while Dharkon wants to spread destruction and despair.

Fanon[]

Many theories surrounding the two hands cropped up, ever since the first game. Many like to believe that, at least for the first game and Melee, the game is just a child playing with its toys and the hands represent their own hands.

However, starting with Brawl, it became far more likely that they are fully sentient characters. Many like to think that the Master Core is a weaker specimen of whatever species Galeem and Dharkon are supposed to be, considering the many similarities between them.
