Hankcon is the non-binary ship between Hank and Connor from the Detroit: Become Human fandom.
Canon[]
Depending on the player’s decisions, Hank’s relationship with Connor is the most impactful towards Connor’s growth into a weapon or an individual. Based on Connor’s actions, Hank’s attitudes regarding Connor will shape from anywhere to hostile or friendly, even family-like. The relationship between the pair, regardless of the route determined, influences both character’s arcs tremendously.
The foundation of Connor and Hank’s relationship rests on the notion of difference and progression. The characters, acting as the perfect counterpart of the other, Connor being the linear and Hank the turbulent, serve to stabilize the extreme behaviors of their partner; improving or damaging their existing conflicts.
Particular actions that affect Connor’s relationship with Hank are choices in speech, his decisions on how to deal with deviants, the number of times he dies, and his status as Machine or Deviant.
Connor and Hank meet when Connor is assigned to look into the Deviant Android's. He works with the Detroit police, partnered with Hank. Hank is initially cold towards Connor but eventually warms up to him. As they work on the case, they become closer and Connor gets to know Hank better, with Hank telling him more about his life. The more they bond the more options the player has in the story to choose from, as their close relationship unlocks these.

Hankcon is by far one of the most popular, if not the most popular ship, in the Detroit: Become Human fandom. This is due to Connor being the most prominent route in the game, being a fan favorite as a result. His relationship with Hank is the main one in his route, meaning that it's easy for people to become attached to their relationship. Their relationship is usually seen one of two ways: as a father-son relationship or as a romantic relationship.
Post canon works of the good ending to the game, often have the two living together. With Connor either living in Hank's spare bedroom, or them sharing one, depending on if the work has them start out as a couple. Meanwhile it’s common to have them live as a family with Sumo if the work is plationic.
Works for the two platonically will have Connor remind Hank of his deceased son, oftentimes it's taken as if Connor was the son Hank can have again. It's to the point that people mistake it for being Canon.
On AO3, Hankcon is the most written ship for both Hank and Connor. It is also the most written ship in the Detroit: Become Human tag.

- Connor has this unique coin trick, during the game Hank can be seen attempting said coin trick.
- Hank does not like it when Connor samples evidence with his mouth.
- During their second case, the sight nearly made him vomit from his hangover again.
- Hank's ending in the story will be determined by his relationship with Connor. If Connor becomes a deviant, Hank has a better chance of surviving. However, if Connor remains a machine, his relationship with Hank will be a hostile one, resulting in Hank either killing himself or being killed by Connor.
- Of the three stories, Hank is the hardest character to build your trust with.
