HawkFate is the slash ship between Carter Hall and Kent Nelson from the DC Comics and DC Extended Universe fandoms.

Canon

Black Adam

Waller tells Carter that his recruits seem to new for fighting Tehth-Adam, and Carter says that he called Kent. Kent's been out for awhile, but Carter says that he can't do this without him, since it takes magic to fight magic.

As they fly to Kahndaq, Kent joins Carter in the cockpit as they look over all the information they have on Tehth-Adam, and says that there's not much given that yesterday he was a myth. Carter says he's a bad man, they don't need to know much else. Kent says that when you look into the future as much as he does, you don't really believe in absolutes. Carter chuckles and Kent asks what he's laughing at. Carter says it was just a smirk, and Kent says that's how Carter laughs. Carter says he missed Kent spouting cryptic shit, and Kent says he's almost missed him ignoring all his advice. He says the plan isn't very good, and Carter says that a bad plan is better than no plan. Kent wishes there were a third option.

After Adam gets away, Carter says that they need to go after him but Kent says that they're not strong enough. Carter says that he should use his prediction powers to figure that out before they get beat, and Kent says that he's working on it. He finds Adrianna and asks to look in her bag, and Carter asks what he's doing. Kent says that she has the Crown of Sabbac, and Carter says they need to deal with one catastrophe at a time.

That night in HawkJet, Kent goes to Carter in the cockpit, dressed in a bathrobe. He repeats Carter's words about having a bad plan is better than no plan, and Carter says that was before they had a very bad plan. Kent tells him to let it go and that he'd rather be fighting with Adam than against him. Carter says that he's still a murderer, and that if he turns Amon is dead. Kent says that Carter doesn't get to decide who lives and dies, that it's up to fate, but Carter wants to know what the helmets telling him. Kent doesn't say anything, and Carter realizes that somebody's going to die. His first guess is Atom Smasher, and Kent says it's surprisingly not. Carter's next guess is himself, and Kent takes a moment, getting flash forwards to the future. Kent says that it's when it's time for the two of them to say goodbye, Carter will know and that there's still time to change the future. Carter takes a moment, and assumes that they're going to be sticking with their very bad plan.

On the way back from the ARGUS base, Carter notices that he's resting fitfully and wakes him up. He asks if "missions accomplished" and Kent says that his vision hasn't changed. Carter says he needs to know what's coming, but Kent says that there is a way to stop it, but Carter dies. Carter just gives a smirk and says that Kent should have told him sooner, since he has no fear of death. Kent says that's exactly why he didn't. Kent says that the world needs Carter, and Carter reminds Kent that it's fate who chooses who lives and dies, not them. Kent jokingly says it sounds familiar and that he's lived longer than he thought. But is still sentimental, and places his hand on Carter's shoulder, saying that he doesn't want his friend to die.

Kent sees Sabbac enter the ruins and tells Carter that this is it, they can't win. Carter says that the world burns if they don't, and that a bad plan is better than no plan. He starts walking towards the ruins, Maxine and Al joining him, when Kent puts up a barrier stopping them from getting through. Kent teleports to the other side and Carter demands to know what he's doing. Kent says that he's giving them a third options, but Carter insists that it's supposed to be him. Kent says that he didn't tell Carter that he saw a way to prevent his death, and that for the first time in his life when he looks ahead, he sees nothing, and it's beautiful. Carter desperately yells for Kent not to and starts trying to break through the shield, but to no avail. Kent then follows Sabbac inside as Carter watched on the verge of tears.

The shield eventually comes down, and Carter runs inside to the throne room. He scream for Kent, just as Sabbac punches a fiery fist through Kent's chest. Carter screams "NO!" and Kent gives him one last smile, before his body turns to dust.

After defeating Sabbac, Adam tells Carter that he's only there because of Kent. Carter looks to the helmet of fate and says it makes two of them. He picks it up and whispers "See you around old friend", as the Helmets disappears.
