Was Hercules ever like "Yo, I don't wanna fight Cerberus!"?
—Luisa during Surface Pressure

Herculisa is the het ship between Hercules and Luisa Madrigal from the Hercules and Encanto fandoms.

Canon[]

With Hercules and Luisa coming from two separate Disney universes and timelines, the two have never met. They were each imbued with super-strength at a young age. While Hercules' strength was given to him as a baby due to his status as an Olympian god, Luisa was given super-strength at the age of five from the family miracle as an extension of her personality. They were both devastated when they had to give up their strength, though Hercules gave it up willingly as part of a deal with Hades while Luisa realized that their family miracle was dying out.

In Encanto, Luisa explains to her younger sister Mirabel that she feels like she has to burden herself in order to feel validated, when Mirabel suspects that she knows that something is wrong with the miracle that gave Luisa super-strength. She uses Hercules as an example of someone who does something thought impossible for the greater good. During her musical number, "Surface Pressure", she sees Hercules braving a battle with Cerberus, until he chickens out and runs away, willingly taking his place.

Luisa and Hercules are known to be both strong of body and of heart. Despite their potentially intimidating physiques, they both have a heart of gold beneath. In their respective films, they are shown to care deeply for their families. They also might both suffer from perfectionism, feeling as though they cannot make any mistakes lest they let down their family.

They are both present in the 100th year anniversary short, Once Upon a Studio, although they do not interact with each other.

Fanon[]

The idea for this Disney cross ship is believed to have come from Luisa mentioning Hercules in her song, and the fact that they are both super strong characters. Due to her wording implying that she idolizes Hercules, she's often characterized as a fangirl of his and would be more than excited at the idea of meeting him in person.

A few fanworks of them have the two challenging one another to see which one of them is stronger than the other. That is why some of the fanart is of Luisa and Hercules having a friendly game of arm wrestling. There is also art or posts about the two mentioning the line Lucia used to reference Hercules in her song. This has people thinking that Luisa may have had a point, from the times he has fought his uncle's three headed dog (in the Disney Hercules franchise and other versions of the Greek myth).

Some other fans find themselves shipping Luisa with Megara from Hercules, rather than Hercules himself. This is often from fans who view Luisa as a WLW. They feel that Luisa would remind Meg of Hercules, and that would help drive their connection. Some people have also featured Luisa in the world of Hercules.

There is currently only one work for this ship on AO3, and it features the two in a platonic relationship.
