HeroMari is the het ship between Hero and Mari from the Omori fandom.
Canon[]
In the dreamworld, Mari is shown to be very flirty with Hero, leaving him embarrassed or shy. When you talk to Mari while Hero is tagged, she will say "Hey there, handsome! Or maybe you prefer... 'What's cookin', good lookin'?" with a smug face. In one of the photos in the photo album, it is written under that Basil says that they look so happy together, a match made in heaven. Their friend group is shown to ship them, as their friend group knows that they are in-love.
In another photo in the photo album, Hero is sleeping on Mari's stomach. In another one, Mari is shown holding a bug and Hero beside her looks afraid from the bug. Mari would often hide bugs in Hero's desk at school. Mari enjoyed teasing Hero, saying his reactions were either cute or funny. In the promo art, there are seen holding each other's hands. In one of the photo albums, they are washing the dishes together, they both look happy while doing it. The two are shown to be happy when they are together in the photo album.
In another photo, everyone had fallen asleep except Basil, Mari and Hero. Mari and Hero are seen holding hands and laughing together. The pair was often supervising everyone else. In another photo in the photo album, Mari and Hero were sleeping beside each other. Basil wrote under the photo that they looked so cozy together and that if Mari's dad found out, he would have been mad.
They were childhood friends, and it was canon that the two were in-love. It was known that Mari's father would become upset when they got too close. It was implied they were dating, but it was never properly confirmed if they actually were. It was also shown that Mari was very supportive of Hero, for he had considered becoming a chef because Mari motivated him to do so, though he ended up becoming a doctor instead. After Mari's death, Hero was truly saddened, and he believed she committed suicide. In a scene, Hero cries on the piano keys, whispering Mari's name since he still misses her so much. It is implied that Hero misses Mari very much, and is still very saddened by her death. Hero didn't visit Mari's headstone for 4 years, for he was not ready to yet.

HeroMari is a canon ship within the Omori fandom and the second-most popular ship in the fandom after Sunburn. This, along with several adorable and heartfelt moments in-game, makes the ship a fan favorite. Many fans are admittedly upset over Mari's death and the loss of Hero's love interest. Some fans create angst, imagining scenarios after the death of Mari, most based off the outburst within the game stated by Kel. In said outburst, Hero snaps at Kel, accusing him of not caring over Mari's death, or not even caring about Mari at all. Other fans may create AUs in which Mari lives. Overall, HeroMari is a well-liked ship, being most written ship for its fandom on AO3, with over 2,660 works written.
