HideKane is the slash ship between Hide and Kaneki from the Tokyo Ghoul fandom.
Canon
Hide and Kaneki have been friends since they were children. Hide, who had recently moved to the area, approaches the reserved and quiet Kaneki, and asks to be his friend. From then on, they became best friends, even going to the same university when they got older.
Hide, wanting his friend to get out of his shell, encourages Kaneki to ask Rize out on a date. However, this ultimately leads to Kaneki becoming a half-ghoul. Later, when Kaneki is first getting used to his new body, he, Hide, and Nishiki take a walk together. Nishiki attacks Hide, seemingly knocking him unconscious. Kaneki fights to protect his best friend, and succeeds. Hide is brought to rest and heal at Anteiku, and Kaneki falsely believes his secret is still safe. Though Hide knows, he doesn't reveal this fact to Kaneki.
As Kaneki delves more into the world of ghouls, at the same time, Hide works to help Kaneki though the CCG.
In the anime Tokyo Ghoul √A, during the final battle, Kaneki and Hide meet in Anteiku, but Hide is fatally wounded. Kaneki carries Hide's body across a snow-covered street. Though many CCG members line the street, none shoot them as they approach Arima.
In the ending of the Tokyo Ghoul manga, Hide confronts a bloodied and dying Kaneki in the sewers. By this point, Kaneki's centipede kakuja is still activated. Hide kneels down and says "Let's just go home." When this scene is shown again, they are both gone — it is implied that Kaneki ate Hide.
In the manga Tokyo Ghoul:re, it is revealed that Hide did not die, and has been living under the code name "Scarecrow". However, his face has been severely mutilated. When asked why he always helps Kaneki, Hide responds simply "because I love him".
