Hirbur is the slash ship between Wilbur Robinson and Hiro Hamada from the Disney fandom.
Canon
As Wilbur and Hiro are from different series, they have never met in canon.
Both of their Disney films have something to be with science and the people that work in that field.
Wilbur's film is based on a novel of the same name, while Hiro's is drawn from a Marvel comic of the same name as well. Along with it being the reason why Hiro is sometimes considered as a Marvel character.
Similarities and comparisons
- Are two of the playable characters in Disney crossover games, like Disney INFINITY, Disney Emoji Blitz and Disney Heroes: Battle Mode.
- Both have dark colored hair.
- Wilbur's personal, character logo icon is the lightning bolt logo on his clothes, while Hiro's is between his helmet, the "six" of BH6 and the microbot shaped H in Big Hero 6: The Series.
- Wilbur has a bad boy nature while Hiro has a nerdy-like one.
- Once Hiro learns about Wilbur's time machine, he'll probably take or ask Wilbur if they could go back to the day of Tadashi's death so he could prevent it, while Wilbur does what he can to talk Hiro out of it since he knows that messing with time is dangerous.
- As Wilbur had learnt that lesson the hard way he was joy riding through time in the prologue video game of Meet the Robinsons.
- Hiro is the leader of a superhero team, while Wilbur as an uncle that dresses and acts a bit like one.
Fanon
Hirbur is part of the Modern/Futuristic Four crossover Disney fandom, where the two are two of the four main members of it along with Violet from The Incredibles and Penny from Bolt, and the only slash ship of the Modern 4. Even though there have been a few fans who have the ship rival with the other Big Hero 6/Meet the Robinsons crossover slash ship, Hirowis (Hiro x Lewis).
As it is a main pairing from a crossover fandom, much like the popular Disney/DreamWorks crossover fandom group the Big Four/Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons (Rise of the Guardians, Brave, Tangled and How to Train Your Dragon), it is common used in many AU scenarios. In some versions of Superhero related AUs, Wilbur is sometimes given thunder or electric related superpowers to reference the lightning bolt logo on his shirt and the cap he lens Lewis, as well as it commonly being seen as his personal icon mark. While Hiro's fan-given superpower commonly has something to be with telekinesis to reference the Nero-transmitter head band he had made to control his microbots before Yokai took them for his own. Just as a Superhero AU relates to and references Hiro and his world, Time Travel related AUs references Wilbur as they travel through time together; since the prologue video game of Meet the Robinsons had Wilbur joy riding through time until he learnt his lesson as to way he shouldn't play with his father's time machine. In a few time travel related/featured Big Hero 6 fanfics, Hiro does what he can to prevent Tadashi's death.
Because a few netizen versions of the Big Hero 6 team were briefly seen as Disney cameo characters within the internet world of Ralph Breaks the Internet, there is a chance that the netizen versions of Hiro and Violet might know each other.
