Holarke is the het ship between Hope Mikaelson and Ryan Clarke from the Legacies fandom.

Canon[]

Hope and Clarke first encounter one another during Clarke's hunt to find his younger half-brother Landon Kirby, when he came across her and Alaric at the house of Seylah Chelon in the episode eight of the first season Maybe I Should Start From The End. Working for an agency self-appointed to keeping the supernatural world away from the Human public eye, Clarke was aware the pair lied to him about their identities, but didn't care given his priority was locating his brother. Their season one interactions ended with Hope casting a spell over Clarke forcing him to copy her moves precisely and, in order to protect Landon from him, made Clarke jump with her into the pit Malivore had been reduced to: thus trapping both of them within the pit, and causing those on the outside to forget her existence.

The pair spent a significant amount of time together lost in the pit during which time Clarke attempted to recruit her help in escaping the pit wherein his father was torturing him. When Hope left without him Clarke vowed to Malivore that he would destroy her. To this end, Clarke was next seen infiltrating the Salvatore Boarding School disguised as the headmaster, where he began manipulating Hope's friend and classmate Josie into using dark magic, and devised a plan to take over Hope's body. The plan failed and Clarke was imprisoned in the school, where he over time became rehabilitated. The second season ended with Clarke telling Hope he never hated her and as he attempted to sacrifice himself to keep Malivore in the pit forever, he was killed by the Necromancer. When Clarke was resurrected in the penultimate episode of season three, Clarke and Hope team up once again leaving Josie and Lizzie Saltzman stranded at a gas station, with the goal to continue their fight against Malivore. On this journey, the pair realized Clarke had been brought back as a Human, without his life bound to that of his father, to his delight and Clarke expressed surprise that she and his brother were not still together as he'd believed them to be destined. Throughout their journey, Clarke continued to be positive she and Landon would be good together. Upon having his throat cut by Malivore, Clarke refused Hope's blood as a cure given it would be poisonous to him as well as it had been for his father, and was prepared to die rather than be sent back into the pit's darkness. Having seen that Clarke had truly changed and was not the monster he once was, Hope cauterized his wound and brought him to a hospital, where they part ways with Clarke expressing to her how important her friends and family are, and not to lose them.

In season four, Clarke is shown to be living a suburban life with a Human girlfriend, Trudy. He appears content with his life, and is daunted by Hope's return, requesting she leave when he realizes her humanity is off and therefore a threat. Hope mocks that his family, Landon and Malivore, are gone leaving him all alone, and demands he help her, but when he refuses she takes more extreme measures by threatening the life of his girlfriend in front of him. When he gives in and provides her with what she needs, Clarke refuses her offer to join her and although seeming to accept this and leaving, Hope later ruins his life by lying to Trudy about having had an affair with Clarke. Because of her, Clarke loses his girlfriend and his job, leaving him nothing left but to join her on her mission and she mocks him continually for wanting the simpler life. He defends the life saying it was all he ever wanted after the torture he went through under his father, and picks at her morality- disappointed she had done the opposite of what he'd said to when they'd last seen one another, and how even with her humanity turned off she must know what she's doing is wrong.

While working with her Clarke is subjected to more mockery and eventually is used as Argus bait so that Hope has the time to leave and do what she needs to undisturbed. He survives and escapes the Argus, and before cutting ties with his old life gives one last call to Kaleb, a student at the Salvatore Boarding School, to inform him that there is an Argus loose that needs to be dealt with. He reconciles with his girlfriend when he tells her about the supernatural world.

Since their first interactions, Hope and Clarke gained traction as a ship, and predominantly has a following on twitter and YouTube. Some fans found Clarke to be a more interesting foil for Hope than his brother Landon, preferring their chemistry and finding that the pair had much in common.
