HolyGates is the slash ship between Abel and St. Peter from the Hazbin Hotel fandom.
Canon[]
Abel and St. Peter's relationship is friendly and companionable. Both are residents of Heaven and are shown to be good friends. Their interactions, as seen in the episode "Storyteller," depict them spending time together, going around Heaven and seemingly enjoying various activities.
Season Two[]
Abel is first seen sitting next to St. Peter at the start of "Storyteller," as Heaven falls into a panic from Adam's death, the fact that Sera kept the extermination of Hell's sinners a secret from them all and wonder how Sir Pentious got into Heaven; since their head Seraphim denied the possibility of redemption. When Abel spoke for the first time, but gets cut off Lute as she points out Adam never liked him, Peter is seen covering his mouth to hide his laugh. After the Speaker of God helps the other angels in the room see Pentious is a redeemed soul, both Abel and Peter are touched by Pentious's story and the fact he is a good person.
Sometime after the trial, Abel and Peter decide to join Emily in showing Pentious all the fun things heaven has to offer, during the song, "Like You." Because they were too wrapped up in enjoying those activities themselves, however, they failed to notice that Pentious wasn't interested in any of them. Until they see Pentious curling up into a ball to cry, and realised they might have over done it. Peter and Abel then go to the meeting with Sera, on their current situation and what they should do. During the meeting Peter watches Abel struggling with his new role as the head of the Exorcists, since he was still adjusting to it, doesn't have much confidence in himself and isn't one for conflict. This led to Sera asking St. Peter for his opinion, since Abel doesn't have the answers she was looking for, but Peter wasn't much help either as he is just the guy who watches the door. Because neither of them were of help, Sera sends them away to figure things out on her own. Though as Abel and Peter were leaving, Abel has Peter go on ahead without him so he can offer words of encouragement and support to whatever choice Sera makes.

After Abel was revealed in the Twitter post Vizziepop did for Christmas 2024, people began to ship him with Peter. With him being one of the three angels to be featured beside Abel in the artwork image. Because Peter doesn't have many ships, with St. Emily being his only notable ship from season one, HolyGates attention pretty fast. With sneak peaks, leaks and the official trailer for season two showing that Peter and Abel know each other, and appear to be on good terms. Allowing the ship to gain support and be featured beside popular Hellaverse ships, before the second season aired and showcases moments between them. When "Storyteller" opened with Peter and Abel sitting together and gave off friend vibes between them, HolyGates fans were thrilled.
Because Emily was also featured in the Twitter post that started HolyGates, however, it had also created Serapherd and it became HolyGates' main rival ship. Those who didn't want to get involved in ships decided to feature all three angels in a poly ship, so they wouldn't be forced to choose between them or St. Emily. A sneak peek image of Peter and Abel with Emily and Sir Pentious had even got some people to view them as two of Pentious's guardian angels, beside Emily. Since the aftermath of season one got some people to view Peter and later Abel as Emily's allies in helping redeemed souls, before "Storyteller" aired.
