Honaemu is the femslash ship between Emu Otori and Honami Mochizuki from the Project SEKAI fandom.
Canon[]
Honami and Emu both attend Miyamasuzaka Girls' Academy as second-year students. During their first year, they were classmates in class 1-B.
Initial Cards[]
They are first shown interacting in both side stories of Honami's "The Kind Honor Student" card. In the first side story, Emu, who is really hungry, runs into Honami while she is buying 15 apple pies. Emu asks to buy a thousand apple pies, surprising Honami as well as the shop clerk. It turns out that Honami bought all the available apple pies and fresh ones wouldn't finish baking for another hour. Honami offers one of her apple pies to Emu, and the two sit down and eat together. Emu gets some apple pie crust on her cheeks, which Honami helps remove. Emu thanks Honami for everything, but Honami thanks Emu since it's been a while since she sat down and enjoyed an apple pie without thinking too much.
In the second side story, Emu surprises Honami when she notices that she looks upset. Honami denies being upset at first but quickly opens up to Emu, explaining that she remembered being in the brass band in middle school. Emu leaves to go to Phoenix Wonderland. She tells Honami to come watch once the show is ready.
In an area conversation Emu buys herself and Honami taiyakis to repay the apple pie she both her.

Fanon[]
Honaemu is a rarepair that is normally overshadowed by more popular ships like Emunene and Shihonami. It's one of the more popular rarepairs despite not having that many interactions. Honaemu is more popular than ships like Airiemu and Mafuhona but less popular than other rarepairs like Mafuemu and Honakana. There's a decent amount of fanart for Honaemu, and there are also 4+ works for them on AO3.
While apple pies are normally associated with just Honami herself, Honaemu is also sometimes associated with apples or apple pies. This is likely because Emu dressed up as the "Prince of Planet Apple Pie" and gave Honami rose-shaped apple pies on her birthday. It could also be because the two ate apple pie together in the first side story of Honami's 1* card or because the two talk about apple pies in an Area Conversation at the Shopping Mall. Honami and Emu's Kizuna Rank title, "Apple Pie Heaven," also strengthens the link between Honaemu and apple pies. Honaemu's relation to apple pies also helped name the ship Applegumi since the other members of the ship, Mafuyu and Kanade, also have relations to apples, making all four people in the ship associated with apples.
