The Honkai Main Trio is the friendship ship between Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zaychik from the Honkai fandom.
Canon[]
Pre-Main Story[]
- “In Feburary 2014, Cocolia triggered an artificial Honkai outbreak in Chiba Academy to reawaken Mei's dormant stigmata. Bronya was then deployed to subdue and recover Mei. But Cocolia didn't include a silver-haired girl in her schemes. Her name is Kiana Kaslana. And this Honkai outbreak... bound the fates of these girls together.”

Kiana, Mei, and Bronya are the central characters of Honkai Impact 3rd. Their first meeting takes place soon after the 3rd Honkai Eruption in Nagazora and the awakening of the 3rd Herrscher in Raiden Mei, which was orchestrated by Cocolia. Kiana fights the 3rd Herrscher and saves Mei from jumping. The two then move to escape the city, and they encounter Bronya, a robot-like girl with the mission to bring Raiden Mei to Cocolia. Mei appeals to Bronya's humanity, getting her to join their side. Mei and Bronya form a bond like that of an older sister and younger sister. Kiana, on the other hand, has a much more boisterous relationship with Bronya, and the two often argue and make petty remarks toward each other.
Escape from Nagazora[]
Bronya saves Kiana and Mei from a large Honkai beast with her mech, Project Bunny 19C. Kiana is annoyed whenever Bronya gets Mei's attention over her, but Mei tells her that while she loves Bronya, she loves Kiana too. The girls get back into battle. While Mei gets distracted by the Honkai beast launching Bronya, Kiana moves Mei out of the way, taking a nasty hit for her. Holding Kiana's unconscious body, the 3rd Herrscher awakens and defeats the Honkai beast.
St. Freya High[]
Murata Himeko fights the 3rd Herrscher. Kiana wakes up and rips out the Herrscher's wings, trying to bring the human Mei back, and the two fall to Himeko's ship unconscious. Bronya follows them on the cargo bay of the Hyperion ship. Theresa speaks with Kiana and Himeko to Mei, hand they all agree to enroll at St. Freya as Valkyries under the tutelage of Himeko. Kiana fails her first Valkyrie exam, so Bronya helps her by giving her a virtual reality simulation of history, where they witness Kallen Kaslana's execution and attempt to save her.
Main Story[]
Where Dreams Began[]
The three girls were tasked to retrieve the battleship Selene. Kiana saves Mei from some zombies, and later Mei unleashes her Herrscher power to fight against a group of Honkai beasts. Bronya is then seen decrypting code on the ship, in a hurry to get to Mei and Kiana in time. Mei is relieved to see that Bronya is okay, then collapses in her arms. Kiana carries Mei as she and Bronya go through the interior of the ship and Mei eventually wakes up. When they reach the bridge of the ship, they find a strange letter saying that the Selene is a gift to Kiana. Then Bronya's bio-chip acts up, causing her to loose control and fight her teammates. After defeating her, Bronya stirs awake, and both Kiana and Mei are glad. Bronya, not wanting to drag anyone down, requests to get physiological exam.
Kiana was meant to discharge Bronya from the hospital, though Bronya was able to discharge herself by hacking into database. Kiana finds her in the library. She brought a HOMU video game that Bronya is a fan of so that Bronya won't be bored. Mei then arrives and chastises Kiana for slacking off. On the Valkyrie exam, Kiana does the first combat trial with Mei, who is impressed with her performance. Kiana is then paired against Bronya for the second trial. Kiana admits that she's glad Bronya has recovered. She beats Bronya in their sparing, who says it's because she hasn't fully recovered yet. Then in the last round, the training simulator malfunctions and summons a sim of the Ganesha Honkai beast. Mei and Bronya help Kiana defeat it. The three walk back to the dorms together, before Kiana suddenly falls into a dream from the Herrscher of the Void and sleepwalks to the Selene.

As the main characters, the Main Trio is the most popular and iconic friendship in Honkai Impact 3rd, often featured together in official and fan arts. Their days at St. Freya are nostalgic for many fans, as this was where they were happy together before events of the main story had them separated, reunited, and separated again. The widening cast of characters has also made some fans miss when it was just these three. For example, when the SEA 5th Anniversary art featured Kiana and Mei with Elysia, some fans were disappointed that Bronya got seemingly replaced.[1]
Kiamei is the most popular subsidiary ship in the trio, as well as the only romantic one. KiaBron and BronMei are usually interpreted as two different sibling dynamics(though there are a few that ship these romantically, albeit rarely); KiaBron the bickering siblings and BronMei as a wholesome dynamic where Bronya looks up to her older sister. A popular scenario with these three is Bronya third-wheeling Kiamei, much to her annoyance.

- In gameplay, their endgame battlesuits, Herrscher of Truth (Bronya), Herrscher of Origin (Mei), and Herrscher of Finality (Kiana) are designed to synergize as a team. They even have a unique ult animation when put on a team together.
