HonoKoto is the femslash ship between Honoka Kosaka and Kotori Minami from the Love Live! fandom.
Canon[]
Kotori and Honoka are childhood friends along with Umi Sonoda. They are very close, going to school and hanging out together often. Kotori even wakes up Honoka in the morning when she oversleeps. When Honoka finds out the school is closing down, Kotori comforts her. Honoka then suggests the idea of a school idol club, which Kotori immediately agrees to.
In episode 11 of season 1, Kotori gets a letter inviting her to fashion school. While an amazing opportunity, it would mean that Kotori couldn't stay with Honoka and the rest of Muse anymore. Kotori struggles to tell Honoka this, chickening out the last second every time. She calls Umi about her issue. In the end, Honoka overworks herself and faints on the stage due to her fever.
In episode 12, Honoka recovers from her fever. Kotori feels sad due to not sorting out her issues with Honoka. Later, Kotori feels hesitant to tell Muse that she's going to fashion school, but Umi stans up and tells everyone Kotori is going to fashion school. Everyone is surprised, but Honoka feels anrgy at Kotori for not telling her. Kotori tries to tell Honoka she really tried to tell her, but she couldn't find a time because Honoka was so dead set on her live performance. Later, Honoka feels sorry for being angry at Kotori. She watches a video of A-Rise on her laptop and feels inadequate. She plans to do a final live with Muse, which Umi reacts to by slapping her.
In episode 13, Honoka feels sad due to her situations with Umi and Kotori. Kotori can't hang out with Honoka, due to packing up for fashion school. In the end of the episode, Honoka goes to the airport where she confronts Kotori and asks her not to leave. Kotori cries, telling her she should be saying sorry instead. At the end of the episode, Muse sings a full 9-member version of Start:Dash!!

HonoKoto sailed due to the girls being such close friends, and the childhood friends trope being so popular. The ship is not as popular as other ships such at KotoUmi or TsubaHono, whoever it's still relatively popular. Due to a School Idol Diary where Kotori has an Umi doll she likes imagine crying, along with the doujin "School Idol Days", it's a popular meme that Kotori is a yandere similar to You or Ayumu.
