Hubertra is the het ship between Petra Macneary and Hubert von Vestra from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Petra Macneary and Hubert von Vestra two playable characters in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and its spin-off Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Hubert is a noble of the Adrestian Empire and servant to crown princess Edelgard von Hresvelg. Petra is the granddaughter of the king of Brigid (a neighbouring island nation). When Petra was still a child, a war broke out between the Empire and Brigid allied with Dagda. During this war, Petra's father was killed, Brigid was made a vassal state of the Empire, and Petra was brought to the Empire as a political hostage. In the Imperial Year 1180 both Petra and Hubert became students of the Black Eagles house at Garreg Mach Monastery Officers Academy alongside Edelgard.
If Byleth chooses to teach the Black Eagles, both Hubert and Petra will among their students. If they choose the Blue Lions or the Golden Deer they will be able to recruit Petra who will left the Black Eagles to join Byleth's class.
Silver Snow[]
Should Byleth side against Edelgard in the Holy Tomb, Petra will join them, but Hubert will not. He will die at the Empire's capital of Enbarr, potentially being killed by Petra herself.
Crimson Flower[]
Should Byleth join Edelgard in the war effort as part of the Black Eagle Strike Force, both Hubert and Petra will fight alongside them. This is the only route where both remain playable. They can get married after the war if they reach A support.
- Shortly after the war, Brigid renegotiated its diplomatic arrangement with the Adrestian Empire, ending its service as a vassal and becoming a full ally. As part of that agreement, Petra, queen of Brigid, was wed to Hubert, Marquis Vestra. Some say that the marriage was purely political, ordered by Emperor Edelgard, while others insist that it was of their own accord. Although they led busy lives, and sometimes lived separately. Still, their shared home in the western Fódlan village of Nuvelle was filled with their many children, suggesting a loving union.
Azure Moon/Verdant Wind[]
If Petra was not recruited by Byleth, she will side with the Empire and will became a general of the Imperial Army alongside Hubert. Hubert and Petra will be fought by Byleth's army in the chapter "To War at Gronder" and they will both retreat instead of being killed. They are fought a second time while defending the Imperial capital of Enbarr. While Petra can be avoided, Hubert must be killed to win the battle.
If Petra was recruited by Byleth she will choose to side with the Alliance resistance force (in Verdant Wind) or Dimitri's army (in Azure Moon) even when Edelgard sends her a letter to ask to side with her. After the timeskip, Petra reunite with Byleth and her former classmates at Garreg Mach. Alongside her allies, she will fight Hubert on multiple occasions; however they don't have any special dialogue if they fight (except in Petra's paralogue). Hubert will die at the Empire's capital of Enbarr, potentially being killed by Petra herself.

Hubert encounters Petra in a library, where he compliments her industrious nature (especially in contrast to the troublesome Linhardt) and how well she's been adjusting to life in Fódlan despite being brought in as leverage to ensure that Brigid and Dagda do not stand against the Empire again. She mentions that while she was terrified, she has learned much about the outside world, and regards meeting Hubert and Edelgard as valuable experiences. Hubert again admires her spirit in the face of adversity.

Petra admits to Hubert that she's feeling homesick. Hubert consoles her, saying that he believes in her goals of being the new queen of Brigid and improving its relationship with the Empire. However, he does not hesitate to note that his true allegiance lies with Edelgard and that she would mercilessly crush Petra should she revolt against the Empire. Petra reassures Hubert that she would not lose such a fight, a statement that Hubert finds amusing.

Petra lambasts Hubert for comparing her to Edelgard. Hubert notes that perhaps he does so since they are both royalty. Petra notes that she and Hubert are both generals of equal rank under Edelgard and that she wants him to see her only as herself and comrades in arms. Hubert apologizes, saying that he understands that he has done a disservice to Petra, and admits could not help but think of Edelgard when seeing Petra's past, full of hardship. her unwavering determination, and her uncommon excellence. He vows to try to say less things like that in front of her, to which Petra says that later on, she will be the basis for his comparisons instead of the other way around.

Hubertra is a rarepair mainly because its popularity is overshadowed by other pairings involving Petra and Hubert such as Ferdibert , Hubert x Edelgard, Hubert x Bernadetta, Doropetra , Petra x Claude, Petra x Caspard and Petra x Edelgard. Hubertra shippers like the fact that Hubert end up choosing someone else than Edelgard and generally ship Edelgard with other characters than Hubert. Fans of the pairing love Petra and Hubert's sharing ending, because the two character end up in an happy marriage and have many children. Their support conversations are also liked because in this Petra show qualities required to be queen. Most fanfics of Hubertra take place after the end of the Crimson Flower route, as it's the only route in which Hubert lives.
