Hyprusty is the poly ship between Hydra, Pearl and Rusty from the Starlight Express fandom.

The final race begins, with Peal teaming up with Greaseball, and Hydra teaming up with Rusty. As Greaseball falls into second, she pushed Pearl off her to try and gain more speed. Rusty and Hydra, in last, stop and pick her up. Pearl says that they need to get back in the race, but Rusty says they need to get her somewhere safe first. He takes Pearl with Hydra right behind the two. They drop her off, and she tells them to go and win the race, cheering them on. After they win, Rusty goes off in search of Pearl. Everyone asks where he's gone, and Hydra tells them that Rusty's gone in search of Pearl, as everyone goes in search of them.

Hyprusty is a rarepair in the StEx fandom. Mostly due to Hydra being a character that was only added to the most recent production. Fans often liked the idea of him and Rusty together, but still liked Pearl and Rusty's love story. As a result fans started shipping Rusty with both of them. This naturally extending to fans liking the idea of the three being in a poly relationship. Whether or not fans ship Pearl and Hydra in the cule varies, but most believe that they would get along regardless.
While some fans believe that Hydra was trying to help Rusty impress Pearl by helping him race, others believer that he was also trying to get Rusty to notice him. Something Rusty might not have realized till after he gets with Pearl. With Pearl being okay with adding Hydra to their relationship given how she sees how happy Hydra makes Rusty. Along with the ending implying that Rusty will be relying on Hydrogen now, adding the fuel truck to their relationship makes sense to many fans.
