HyunaSua is the femslash ship between Hyuna and Sua from the Alien Stage fandom.

Canon

Hyuna and Sua have never interacted in canon. Both were originally students of the Anakt Garden - Hyuna in the 49th class and Sua in the 50th. The two classes have been shown together in official content, though it is unknown if Hyuna and Sua ever met.

Out of the main characters, Hyuna and Sua are the only ones to have siblings; there's Hyuna's younger brother, Hyunwoo, and Sua's several sisters. Hyuna had a good relationship with her brother, and gained her righteous personality from his influence. By contrast, Sua's Guardian Nigeh raised her pets in a loveless environment that only valued perfection, leading Sua's sisters to resent and bully her for being the most favored pet; even Sua's most caring older sister belittled her every flaw. These differing environments likely played a big part in Hyuna and Sua's contrasting personalities. Hyuna is expressive and outgoing, while Sua is cold and often conducted herself in an emotionless manner. Another key difference between their characters is the way they deal with the world: Hyuna fights for human freedom, while Sua chooses to comply with the system. Having already lost her most important person, Hyuna fights for herself and humanity as a whole. Hyuna wants to leave her past behind and not be held back by her attachments. By contrast, Sua lived solely for one person, Mizi. Sua never fought back, because she was used to complying ever since she was a child, and Mizi's brightness was all she needed as a respite. Overall, Sua and Hyuna are both important characters to Mizi at different points in her story. Sua is Mizi's most important person who sheltered her from the true nature of the world; With Sua gone and her previous worldview shattered, Hyuna became Mizi's main source of guidance.

Fanon

HyunaSua is a rarepair, even compared to other rarepairs like Hyunamizi. This can be attributed to the ship having no interactions, and being so separate in the story that not many people consider their potential dynamic. HyunaSua fans think their opposing personalities and worldviews could lead the two to clash at first, though over time Hyuna would be able to bring Sua out of her shell.

HyunaSua fans also like to explore their potential dynamic in AUs. One example is an AU where Mizi dies instead of Sua, and after joining the rebellion, Hyuna is the one who helps Sua grapple with her grief and guilt. After Hyuna's cover of Ruler of my Heart came out, some fanartists put Hyuna in Luka's role and Sua in Mizi's role for Round 5.
