Iceyana is the het ship between Ice Bear and Yana from the We Bare Bears fandom.

Canon[]

Yana and Ice Bear seem to have a rather complicated relationship where they are implied to have lived a life of action in a past, but due to an incident, they have since being separated. Yana is resentful towards Ice Bear for this and she isn't easily trusting of him.

We Bare Bears[]

In "Icy Nights", Yana appears working as a barista. She acts somewhat confrontational or aggressive toward customers, and in her first interaction with Ice Bear, she’s clearly upset and resentful. She and Ice Bear share a past (“a life of action”) and something happened between them, which makes her initially distrustful.

When Ice Bear comes to her seeking help, she immediately expresses annoyance and frustration, for example, she recalls that the last time she helped him, he crashed her car and led to her getting hurt (she mentions “30 stitches” in her shoulder). This implies that their shared past has serious stakes and real consequences.

Despite her resentful attitude, Yana does agree to help Ice Bear when he asks for it. She gives him information: in particular, she gives him the location of the headquarters of the Techies Gang. She also warns him to be careful because of how dangerous it is. She tells him not to tell anyone that she provided the info.

In "Icy Nights II", The episode begins with Ice Bear cooking dinner at the Bears’ home. Suddenly, on the TV, there’s a video showing Yana bound and gagged. Barry (disguising his voice) threatens to harm her if Ice Bear doesn’t hand over the Roomba. This forces Ice Bear into action: he interprets this as Yana being in danger and sets out to save her. Yana is being held in a large room inside Barry’s building. While Ice Bear breaks in (through vents, etc.), Yana is still restrained. She registers danger. But at one point, she breaks free of her restraints After freeing herself, Yana assists Ice Bear in fighting Barry’s robot guards (robots with smartphone heads) inside the building. The robots are part of Barry’s security. She helps in navigating through obstacles (robot fights, hallways full of threats) along with Ice Bear. She warns him about traps. She shows awareness of danger.

During the escape, Ice Bear and Yana ride down an elevator together and reminisce about past times they saved each other in old missions or adventures around the world (e.g. “Halifax” is mentioned). There is teasing, warmth, and mutual respect. Yana says that Ice Bear is cute when he’s wrong, while Ice Bear blushes and looks away, Ice Bear compliments Yana’s necklace. Yana blushes and says that her father gave it to her. This necklace becomes important later.

Before pointing out there is going to be a trap waiting for them at the end. Ice Bear replies that he has a plan. After getting the drop on a hallway full of robots, they fight their way to the lobby, where they encounter a large robot controlled by Barry, who now has a burn scar on his face. He takes Yana hostage and attempts to kill her, but Ice Bear uses his axe to sever his hand. Barry uses the robot's laser ray to attack Yana and Ice Bear, incapacitating them long enough to steal the Roomba. Barry prepares to finish them off, but Ice Bear has Roomba use its tiny axe to destroy the phone controlling the robot. Angered, Barry vows revenge before Roomba completely destroys the screen.

After Barry's second defeat, Ice Bear with Yana exit the building, Yana thanks Ice Bear for saving her before leaving on a motorcycle. Ice Bear notices that she left her necklace and picks it up. He opens it, revealing the same picture Yuri had from, "Yuri and the Bear". Remembering how Yana said that her father gave it to her, Ice Bear comes to the realization that Yana is Yuri's long-lost daughter, Ice Bear notices it and to his shock, he says: "Yuri", ending the episode.

Fanon[]

Iceyana has a decent fan following: there is fanart, theorizing, and some shipping discourse about them, especially following the episodes Icy Nights and Icy Nights II. However, compared to ships like Panlie or Grizznom, Iceyana is more of a uncommon ship, it is less prominent in fan-events, prompts, or widespread fanfiction. Most engagement comes from fans who are particularly drawn to Yana’s character and the emotional tension or implied history between her and Ice Bear, rather than from large shipping communities.

On AO3, as of now, there's 8 works written for the ship.
