Tenya and Camie haven’t met in canon, neither with the real Camie nor Toga who disguised as ‘Camie’. In Season 4, when Camie made her first real appearance, she asks Shoto for his number, and since Shoto often hanging out with Tenya and Izuku, so it’s not impossible of them to meet one day. In My Hero One’s Justice 2, Camie admits that Tenya is attractive, or ‘hot’ she quote, also Tenya and Camie are polar opposites. Meanwhile Tenya is an earnest, intelligent, disciplined noble person, although a bit clueless about personal interactions due to his elite upbringing. A testament to his generally hyperactive and intense behaviour, Tenya often exhibits plenty of peculiar tics, such as moving his arms around in strange chopping patterns or sometimes twitching his own body uncontrollably, yet he rarely sheds his usual strict expression. Often referring to others with their last name + “kun”, and quite mature despite him attacking Stain alone on Hosu,
Camie is a teenage girl who comes off far less serious than most of her Shiketsu peers, easily brushing off the fact that she had been targeted by the League of Villains who impersonated her to infiltrate the Provisional Hero License Exam. Seiji even believes she's an utter fool, but their teacher describes her as simply being bubbly. She is very laid back, straightforward, and tends to be quite talkative. Befitting her easy-going demeanour, she prefers others calling her by her first name rather than her family name. The both annoys Katsuki and are in a good terms with Shoto, meanwhile Tenya annoys Katsuki (and got annoyed of him) because of their personalities that are pretty much opposites (Katsuki are the typical delinquent trope but never commits crime meanwhile Tenya is the typical nerdy good guy trope but once tries to commit murder) and Camie annoys Katsuki with her way of speaking (Like teenagers on Twitter), Katsuki pointed out that she haven't learned to talk right when they met again in Team-Up Missions and when Camie teases him in the Remedial Course Arc.
Their relationship with Shoto, Tenya is Shoto's close friend, Shoto helps him along with Izuku when he attacks Stain in Hosu but needed help, that's where his friendship with Shoto bonded. Meanwhile Camie just met Shoto in the Remedial Course Arc, immediately asks Shoto for his phone number after thinking Shoto is 'hot-and-cold snack', which Shoto just gives his phone number, exchanging it with her's. The possibility that the two (Tenya and Camie) Are going to meet are through Shoto or meeting through the barrier that connects to Shiketsu (After Izuku get back to UA, there's a chapter that explains about UA barrier is safer than Tartarus and it connects to Shiketsu, the school who create it first). The second one is more likely since they're already connected now!
The shippers like them because of the possibilities they have to be together, most of IidaCamie shipper are Dynamic Shippers (People who ship a pairing because of dynamic), almost no Canon Shippers (People who ship a pairing because something in their interaction) ship them. They both make a funny dynamic, the same dynamic as ShishiCamie and IidaMei. Due to the two never met, IidaCamie is not particularly popular within the My Hero Academia fanbase, and is thus listed as a “rare-pair”. However, like all rare pairs do, it does have a decent following. Meanwhile Tenya got so many people to ship with, Camie got lesser. Their rival ships are ShishiCamie and IidaMei knowing them got the same dynamics. IidaCamie’s popularity is between IidaMei and ShishiCamie. IidaCamie is portrayed that Tenya is the one that are oblivious of Camie’s flirts due to his seriousness, and some of the shippers love to headcanon Tenya studies all slangs so hard and tries to use it when talking to Camie so they understand each other.
