IidaCamie is the het ship between Tenya Iida and Camie Utsushimi from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Tenya and Camie haven’t met in canon; neither with the real Camie nor Toga who disguised herself as ‘Camie’. In Season 4, when Camie makes her first real appearance, she asks Shoto for his number. Since Shoto often hangs out with Tenya and Izuku it’s not impossible for them to meet one day. They are also both currently participating in the Final War, although not on the same side of the battlefield.
Tenya and Camie are polar opposites. Tenya is an earnest, intelligent, disciplined noble person, although a bit clueless about personal interactions due to his elite upbringing. A testament to his generally hyperactive and intense behaviour, Tenya often exhibits plenty of peculiar quirks, such as moving his arms around in strange chopping patterns or sometimes twitching his own body uncontrollably. However, he rarely sheds his usual strict expression. Tenya often refers to others with their last name + “kun”, and is considered to be quite mature.
Camie is a teenage girl who comes off far less serious than most of her Shiketsu peers, easily brushing off the fact that she had been targeted by the League of Villains who impersonated her to infiltrate the Provisional Hero License Exam. Seiji even believes she's an utter fool, but their teacher describes her as simply being bubbly. She is very laid back, straightforward, and tends to be quite talkative. Befitting her easy-going demeanour, she prefers others calling her by her first name rather than her family name.
Camie annoys Katsuki, but she is on good terms with Shoto. Meanwhile, Tenya annoys Katsuki (and gets annoyed by him) because of their personalities that are pretty much opposites, and is considered to be very close friends with Shoto. This means that Tenya and Camie might get along well with one another if they were to meet. In My Hero One’s Justice 2, Camie admits that Tenya is attractive, or ‘hot’.
Fanon[]
The shippers like them because of the possibilities they have to be together. Most IidaCamie shipper are Dynamic Shippers (people who ship a pairing because of dynamic) rather than Canon Shippers (people who ship a pairing because of canon interactions). They make for a humorous dynamic, similair to ShishiCamie and IidaMei. These also happen to be some of their biggest rival ships.
Due to the two never meeting, IidaCamie is not particularly popular within the My Hero Academia fanbase, and is thus listed as a “rare-pair”. However, like all rare pairs do, it does have a decent following. It is currently Camie's second most popular ship on AO3.
IidaCamie is often portrayed as Tenya being the one that is oblivious to Camie’s flirts due to his seriousness. Some of the shippers love to headcanon Tenya studies modern slang and tries to use it when talking to Camie so they can understand each other better.
