Ikuwada is the het ship between Mukuro Ikusaba and Mondo Owada from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
Mondo never knowingly interacted with Mukuro in the game, due to her being disguised as Junko Enoshima. She also suffered an early death, which limited their chances of interactions. However, prior to the School Killing Life, the two would have attended Hope's Peak Academy together for a year, and then would have remained sheltered in the school for another year following that. They could have potentially gotten to know each other over that time, especially as their desks are seated right next two each other. However, Mondo would not remember any of this due to his memory being wiped by Junko.
The two share some similarities. They're both known to be fighters as Mondo shows a delinquent type of persona, meanwhile Mukuro is the Ultimate Soldier. The two are seen sitting next to each other at the dining table, and are the only ones in the game who've used violence against Monokuma; The only difference being that Mondo doesn't get killed for breaking the rules and Mukuro does. They each have a sibling they share a close relationship with, and where one sibling died at the hands of the other. Mondo is wracked with guilt for unintentionally causing the death of his brother, Daiya, and Mukuro is killed by Junko during the Killing Game.
In Danganronpa: The Animation after Sayaka Maizono's murder, Mukuro is killed by Monokuma (who Junko operates). Mondo is shown distraught as she's stabbed by spears due to not following school regulations, as she assaulted the headmaster. Mondo is then shown placing his long overcoat over Mukuro's dead body, showing his respect towards her, even while dead.
During Chapter 5 in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc IF storyline, Mukuro is saved by Mondo on a motorcycle Junko used for Mondo's execution in-game. Junko is described as trying to injure her sister with the motorcycle, but luckily Mondo was on the motorcycle. Junko tries to make Mondo turn against Mukuro, but he refuses. He states he can't let a girl get hurt. Afterwards, Mondo pulls Mukuro on the motorcycle in order to flee from the stampede of Monokumas.
Although the pair do not interact in the non-canonical Ultimate Talent Development Plan, they do share in interaction in Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. Mukuro (as Junko) approaches Mondo as she watches him get into an argument with the Warriors of Hope. He says they were trying to operate dangerous machinery and he was trying to stop them. Mukuro says he did the right thing, which causes Mondo to blush. They then begin discussing if they can change their appearances in the virtual world, with Mukuro suggesting that Mondo change his hair to look more like Kiyotaka Ishimaru's. Although Mondo shoots down the idea, Mukuro points out that maybe the kids wouldn't be so scared of him if he looked more approachable. They then joke about how they could change their other classmates appearances to make them look significantly different from real life.
Fanon[]
The ship isn't very popular due to having much more popular rivals like Ishimondo and Naekusaba. Although the ship has a very small amount of supporters, it is still a relatively well-liked ship. Ikuwada sailed as a result of Mondo putting his coat over Mukuro's body in the anime. This ship currently has 15+ works on AO3.
