Infinisper is the het ship between Infinite and Whisper the Wolf from the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom.
Canon[]
As of now, Infinite and Whisper have never canonically met each other. As the IDW comic series occurs shortly after the events of Sonic Forces - and the events of the games occured in this continuity - one could assume that Whisper had at least heard of Infinite. However, this can't be confirmed since Infinite has yet to appear or even be directly mentioned in the comics. The only time the two have appeared together is as playable characters in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle, which doesn't even have a way for the two to directly interact. All of this leads to the two never having interacted in canon.
The biggest similarity between Infinite and Whisper is that their stories parallel each other. Both were members of a tight-knit group of mercenaries that fought against Dr. Eggman's forces. Both ended up surviving a massacre that left them as the sole member of their respective groups. The perpetrator of both said massacres had something to do with Shadow the Hedgehog (It was the hedgehog, himself, that killed Infinite's Jackal Squad while a group of Androids that resembled Shadow were what killed the Diamond Cutters). This had caused both Infinite and Whisper to harbor a resentment against Shadow. The experience left personalities changed, resulting in them being colder and less likely to interact in a positive manner with others, signified by them more commonly hiding their face behind a mask. They also tend to display bursts of extreme anger that makes them lash out and do reckless things.
There are a few additional similarities between the two. Visually, Infinite and Whisper are both canines with black being predominant in their color schemes (most of Infinite's fur and Whisper's outfit) as well as accents of white fur on their face. Additionally, the mask so prominent on their outfit is silver in color and includes a predominant left-eye design (Whisper's has a scope built-in to the left side while only the left lens on Infinite's is transparent).
Fanon[]
Infinisper isn't especially popular among the Sonic fandom. Even disregarding that Infinite and Whisper are endemic to two different continuities, Infinite is one of the franchise's most controversial characters and, as such, not the first choice for many fans to pair with Whisper - a character widely liked in her debut. This is evident by this ship being beaten by other Infinite ships (such as with Sonic Forces' avatar) and Whisper ships (such as with Tangle). Despite these, there are people who see value in shipping the two due to the similarities in their stories. Fanworks take that aspect and have them bond over their shared trauma.
On the subject of said fanworks, there isn't that much due to the low popularity of the ship. The first fanart for this ship was put out in 2019 by Deviantart user theIronjedi. However, a significant portion of fanart for this ship seems to come from another user named Alusniper, who started making pieces for it later that year. There also isn't that many fanfics for the pair, with only two tagged stories on AO3.
