IronWillShipping is the het ship between Dawn and Riley from the Pokémon fandom.
Canon[]
Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond[]
Dawn is the heroine of the Sinnoh games. Riley is an enigmatic trainer that has a special aura ability. They first encounter when Dawn is in the Iron Island, and they coindentally stay in the same cabin of their common friend, Roark. There, they go training together in the caves of the island. Riley assists Dawn on training and transpassing the mines of the place. This is the first time that Dawn has knowledge of the aura ability.
On the way, together they also fight against some grunts, members of the villain Team Galactic. There Riley reveals that the island actually belonged to him, and they both partner together to defeat the invaders. When Dawn departs the island, he gives her an egg, which contains a baby Riolu, his signature Pokemon, that also has the aura skill. As the adventure goes on, Riley can be partnered with Dawn in the Battle Tower and the Battle Ground, where they can fight side by side in competitions.
Pokémon Platinum[]
After she becomes champion, Dawn gets a villa as a gift, in there in her new house she talks with Byron about Riley as he notes that she is quite close to him.
Anime[]
In the Anime version of Pearl and Diamond, Dawn meets Riley when she and her friends went to Iron Island to see what is causing Steel-type Pokémon to act up. Riley saves Dawn from the attacking Steel-type Pokémon, and later tells her and the other and his Lucario's aura ability is protecting his partner from whatever is affecting the other Steel-type Pokémon. Together they learn that Team Galactic are unleashing a strange energy from the island's ruins for their main goal, because of what their actions have done to the near by Pokémon, Dawn, Riley and their friends do what they can to stop them. After the Galactic's machinery get destroyed, the villain team begin to turn on the explosives they placed on the island, Riley sends Dawn and the others away for their own safety while he and his Lucario take it upon themselves to use their aura to contain the blast. Dawn is relieved to learn that Riley has survived the blast and will be helping Cynthia's grandmother to stop Team Galactic. While Dawn and her friends have other things on their mind, and bid Farwell to their new friend Riley.
Fanon[]
It's a quite popular pairing in the Sinnoh games. Considering the role playing aspect of Pokemon games, there's no comfirmed relationship for the playable character and most npcs, so the relationships and events during the adventure are up to the player's imagination, filling the blanks of the story.
Despite Riley's small role in the story, the ship has a big amount of art since the release of first Sinnoh games, Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond. Fanfictions tend to portray they both bonding over their shared interest on auras, and Riolu being like their adopted child. The ship some competition with those who may like Dawn with Barry, Cyrus or Lucas. The ship is only possible if Dawn is chosen as the protagonist, otherwise Lucas will fulfil her role if the male playable character is chosen.
