Irumaki is the femslash ship between Miu Iruma and Maki Harukawa from the Danganronpa fandom.

Miu has always been quite vulgar, so she tends to repel people sometimes. Maki on the other hand is more standoff-ish, her whole demeanor being either hostile or uninterest. As well as her normally looking/acting annoyed around others which causes them to feel their presence is unwanted. Both are a case of misunderstanding. Miu, while her choices of expressing it may not be the best, is actually quite soft, despite her often expressing/implying she's uncapable of it due to her intelligence and supposed superiority. It's implied she hides her softer side as a means of defense as not to seem weak.
It's semi-proven that Miu uses this vulgar side of her so people give her more attention (outside of her inventions). It seems to be something she lacks. Like Miu, Maki's demeanor is used as a defensive system. Being an assassin, you have to be completely detached from your victims to kill them. Everyone around her could be a potential opponent, she feels the need to keep her guard up at all times.
Both girls have slight similarites, even with their vast differences. For one, both girls are obviously girls. Both girls also have long hair. Along with that, as said formerly, both girls seem to be misunderstood. Miu, chooses a vulgar vocabulary to gain attention. And Maki, after coming out as the Ultimate Assassin, was feared by others.

Irumaki is a rarepair in it's fandom. Ships surronding it, such as Kaimaki or Kiiruma. Those two ships have a more developed fandom, due to how many interactions the two have. And, it is implied their is romance between the two, which this ship lacks. Irumaki sometimes in paired with Kaede aswell, which leads to Makaemiu.
