IvanTill is the slash ship between Ivan and Till from the Alien Stage fandom.

Canon

As early as through official art by VIVINOS as well as director/designer QMENG, it can be judged that Till and Ivan were friends since childhood.

ALIEN STAGE

Ivan and Till’s first ever appearance both together and in general is seen in the prologue, ALIEN STAGE, where Ivan holds Till, while the latter looks the other way, his body entirely supported by Ivan’s arms.

R O U N D 2

At the end of ROUND 2, the video ends with Ivan looking over at Till, which implies that the next round will be a Ivan centric. This happens after he gets beaten and shoved in to a pod for breaking the rules (killing the wagyein guitar Freddy). Despite Ivan being what seems to be a very important part of Till's life, he is nowhere to be seen in ROUND 2 other than that.

R O U N D 3

ROUND 3, in which Ivan dedicates the song Black Sorrow to Till, reveals that they have known each other since they were young as they both resided in Anakt Garden. Due to living a constraining life after being auctioned off to a rich alien, Ivan is portrayed to be a very reserved child, keeping a distance from the other children as they play. One day, a silver-haired boy dashes past him into a cave, chasing a red flower crown that flows in the wind.

Curious, Ivan follows the silver-haired boy and finds him on the ground next to a startled pink-haired girl, a wegyein (lower class alien) guarding their path. Ivan observes as the silver-haired boy, Till, picks himself up and attacks, Ivan is shown fascinated by Till's free spirit and courage, represented by his pupil’s dilating.

One day, Ivan frees Till from his prison and runs away with him, hand in hand, and for the first time, both of them look truly happy. But when Till lets go of Ivan's hand, stopping in his tracks, they realize that they have conflicting ideals after all as Till turns back because he couldn’t leave behind Mizi, the pinked-haired girl whom he likes. With a resigned smile, Ivan follows him, as he would rather be with him in captivity than without him and have freedom.

However, almost the entire round Till happens to be unconscious due to an injury he obtained from Round 2. Till only awakens from this injury towards the end of Round 3 when both Ivan's song and the MV reach the climax. As he wakes up hearing Ivan's singing, the light on his collar is shown to be green.

TOP 3

Both Ivan and Till have made it as one of the top 3 ranked participants of ALNST season 50, with Ivan ranking 3rd while Till’s ranking 2nd. The segyein refer to both as ‘rookies’, with Ivan being a ‘rookie model’ and Till being a ‘rookie artist’.

At the end of the video they are shown standing next to each other.

All-In

When Mizi and Hyuna are shown, returning to the place where ALNST is happening, a digital screen shows that in the next round Ivan and Till are up against each other.

In the next scene, Till is looking at the board and hitting his picture, the screen then zooms out with Ivans picture now being visible and a round between the two is teased.

R O U N D 6

ROUND 6 is the round in which Ivan and Till go up against each other. However, Till is particularly at his lowest during this round, given the fact the Mizi has been missing since Round 5. When Till sings in Round 6, there are flashbacks present, showing Till suffering in what seems to be a club, hallucinating Mizi from Anakt Garden time, reaching out to save him from his predicament caused by the segyein. As Till in the flashback loses consciousness, there are flashes that show Ivan and Till's first encounter from when they were kids in an adoption center, yet to be sold and owned by the segyein. The two look at each other, Till having a lively and astonished expression, along with his collar glowing orange, while Ivan has a lifeless expression.

The continuation of the flashback in which Till lost consciousness, this time from Ivan's point of view, shows how Ivan came to help Till, taking a collar off of his mouth. Then, as present Ivan starts singing, another flashback is shown of the two fighting over a flower crown Ivan had stepped on. While Till is hurt and angry because of Ivan's action, as they exchange punches Ivan seems to reach the peak of happiness, emotion pouring out of him through a wide expressive smile.

In the next scene, Till appears to be drawing and Ivan's watching closely right next to him, meaning they had most likely grown closer by that time, or at least were not viewing each other in a negative light anymore. Later on, Ivan is shown paying close attention to Till's wounds, presumably from the wegyein incident. Another time, as Till eats alone with a tear streaming down his face, Ivan comes up to him and brushes up a scratch on his cheek, surprising Till, who quickly looks away after seeing it was Ivan, and Ivan licks the blood off his finger. In another scene, where Till is still covered in bandages, Ivan is reaching out for Till's collar, most likely with the intent to open it as he's shown to be able to do multiple times, and metaphorically, to "free" him somehow. Next, a passed out Till in the club is shown again but now free from the collar due to Ivan taking it off, Ivan now holds Tills head and turns it around so its facing forward, and nuzzles against his cheek, while Till's expression relaxes.

Back to the present, both seem to be approaching the end of the song when Till stops singing completely, clearly affected by having to duel against Ivan who he hasn't been looking at the whole time, despite several frames showing that he's listening. Ivan, not wanting Till to lose the round, does not hesitate to throw his microphone onto the ground and leave his position as he makes his way towards Till. He then gently grabs Till's face and presses his lips against his—an act referred to as "kissing" on Earth. However, this term and the meaning behind the gesture has faded into obscurity in this universe after the alien invasion (now most likely vaguely implying affection when given to cheeks). Till initially tries to pull away, but Ivan pulls him back, and eventually, a little spark of light can be seen in Till's eyes for the first time since the round began, implying that he started coming to understand that he was truly loved.

Additionally, it is also implied that Ivan has learned that violence causes point reduction from Round 5, in which Mizi loses points for showing violence towards Luka.

And with this knowledge, to ensure that he will have a lower point score than Till, Ivan breaks the kiss and begins to "choke" Till, but not really. After the big initial surprise, as Till is being seemingly choked, the light in his eyes is gone (not knowing the true reason he is being "choked" just yet), and he remains completely unresponsive, going limp, as if he has truly given up, leaving everything up to Ivan. The final scores of the singers are then shown, with Till's being somewhat higher due to Ivan breaking the rules of the stage. Ivan is then shot multiple times, giving one last genuine smile to Till before eventually letting go of him, shocking Till as the pressure on his neck suddenly fades and Ivan falls onto the stage in front of him.

In the end, Till is left staring down at Ivan's deceased body in a pool of blood mixed with rain, even after the stage lights turn off, finally realizing that Ivan has just sacrificed his life for him.

F I N A L

In the FINAL, Till is put up against Luka, where they sing "Blink Gone." This occurs not too long after Round 6, and Till had no time to recover from the previous events. As a result, Till is still shaken up by Ivan's sacrifice, as can be seen from his red light (which is turned on when one is unstable) on his headset, but yet he puts in his best effort, different from how he had completely given up in Round 6.

In the middle of the song, using his tatic of reminding a grieving person of their deceased loved ones, Luka intentionally begins to remind Till of Ivan by putting his hand to Till's face, wrapping his hands around his throat. Till desperately tries to continue the song, but the reminder of the recent round greatly affects his performance, putting Luka on a higher score.

Till's movements become even more sluggish and his nose starts bleeding as he gets flashbacks of Ivan's kiss and his last smile with a red tint, and the screens behind the stage display photos of Ivan. It is left up for interpretation whether the stage actually displays the photos or if it were rather a fragment of Till's imagination of Ivan. When Luka pulls his chin up, Till imagines Ivan in his place, and his pupils reflect Ivan's red.

KARMA

In KARMA the two are first seen when all the main pairings are shown with hearts, here Ivan can be seen "taking out" his own heart out of his mouth, he then shoves the heart in Till's mouth while smiling and crying, he then crushes the heart himself, the scene isn’t literal and is meant to serve as a metaphor, however, there are interpretations that the scene seems to reference Ivan's sacrifice and his display of emotions in ROUND 6 and the way he delivers his feelings to Till in a desperate attempt to be understood while leaving Till confused and unable to answer because Ivan had only shown the nature of his feelings when it was too late.

The next scene is another metaphorical one, representing a scenario in which the ALIEN STAGE blows up and pet-humans are now free, the two showed together as kid, falling alongside the other children, Till grabs Ivan’s hand and smiles as he turns to face him, Ivan, a moment after, faces him as well, and the pair exchange mutual smiles.

During Isaac's speech, a scene of Ivan and Till in ROUND 6, alongside a scene of Mizi and Sua in ROUND 1, is shown when he says the line: "To love and be loved". In the scene, Ivan seems to have a pained expression on his face while looking at Till.

Comics

Confession

This comic takes place at the end of ROUND 6 and serves as a representative of Ivan’s final thoughts. Ivan is first shown in his ANAKT outfit, remembering Sua and how he thought the two of them were the same given how their circumstances and upbringings were familiar. Next he’s seen looking, with a blank yet intense expression, at a smiling Sua holding hands with Mizi and he comments how he was wrong about perceiving her as similar to him.

Now Ivan is shown in the present, saying that he should’ve been kinder towards her as he didn’t think it would turn out like this, with his own mocking words towards her coming back to haunt him. He then goes on to say that he’s still better than Sua (referring to her sacrifice) because he knows Till won’t care about him, (in this panel, Till’s eyes are shown reflecting Ivan’s red pupils, implying that he realised something.) And so the comic ends with Ivan’s final sentence/thoughts being “Thank you for being the victim of my shallow emotions”.

Scars (Comic)

In this comic taking place after Till is rescued by the rebellion, it is shown that Till constantly hallucinates a version of Ivan that appears to be a personification of his own personal self-hatred and guilt manifestation. As the rebellion focuses on his health, the hallucination calls him a burden, and Till is unable to focus on anyone else. Till is unable to speak, describing it as feeling "blocked", seemingly reminded of Ivan's kiss every time he tries to use his vocal chords.

When his neck heals, the first thing Till says telling "Ivan" to get off him. The hallucination of Ivan says he's touched, with the harsh words reminding him of their past. "Ivan" reaches under Till's shirt and harshly scratches into Till's neck, saying that he knows there was something Till wanted to tell him and urging him to speak plainly, as Till was the one who called out to him. Till desperately denies it, but nonetheless "Ivan" says he's so happy that he could cry. These scratches turn out to be self-inflicted by Till, and they make his hallucination quiet down and revert to resembling Ivan's child self.

In the quiet, Till spends his time drawing and painting. "Ivan" asks Till to draw him, which he agrees to. He questions why Till never drew him more when they were younger, and Till replies that he did a lot, and that it's embarrassing to show to the person involved. Till realizes in that moment that he must have disappointed Ivan, by never letting him see this expression of care, as "Ivan" turns into his teenage self. Till then dismisses his realization however, at which the hallucination of Ivan smiles smugly.

Other

ANAKT

The two came from very different backgrounds as children, with Till being loved and cared for by his provider Io while Ivan has spent his childhood in the harsh conditions from the slums, another example showing his rough childhood can be seen in ROUND 3 when an alien holds him upside down at the top of roof at the edge of the building. Their contrasting backgrounds can be considered one of the reasons as to why they couldn't understand each other, since they were treated so differently it is likely that they had different and/or potentially even contrasting perceptions of some things.

Personality wise, Till is seen as a rebel of sorts, being beat by the segyein (aliens) for misbehaving and not being able to take his collar off as a result of such. He can be described as chaotic, loud and rude, but that's mostly with the segyein, who he wholeheartedly hates. While he can seem a bit distant, he's polite if a bit awkward and shy when he interacts with most humans, Ivan being the major exception. Till's also been described as warm, affectionate and sensitive on the inside.

Ivan, on the other hand, is calm and aloof. He has stoic, robotic tendencies and seems to have problems with either feeling emotions or with expressing them. This may be at least partly due to his upbringing as a "pet" of a rich alien, but it mostly seems to be a result of his early childhood trauma of living in the slums and facing death for the first time at a very young age. Ivan was at first shown as a loner, due to him being of quiet nature. He used to spend most of his time observing others, learning how to express himself and emote. He seems to have changed a lot, with him taking on a polite, perfect, "princely" persona, learning to act emotions out and in result becoming quite popular among his peers, although the graduation goodbye letters show that most of his peers' admiration is shallow, as they don't really seem to know him at all.

Till is perceived as someone talented and introverted around others while at the same time being loud while practicing his instrument. His large dislike towards the segyein has been a very notable thing about his character as it's constantly shown that he purposefully rebels against them, especially his owner, Urak, despite it resulting in injuries. Unlike Ivan who, despite being aware of the aliens cruel nature rather goes along with what they say and listens to their every order. Despite this, Ivan has a positive view on Till's rebelling, as it shows his passion and energy, which is one of the reasons why Ivan has such a deep affection for him in the first place, even though he does not understand why Till acts the way he does.

To put it best, it's quite notable how opposite the two are when it comes to feeling and expressing emotions. Till is also mostly well liked despite his eccentric behavior. He doesn't seem to attract as much romantic attention as Ivan, acting a bit annoyed for a moment when he thinks a person handing him a gift wants it delivered to Ivan again.

Paratise

Ivan's second SUB song, Paratise, which's name is a word play of Paradise (what he calls/sees Till as) and Parasite (what he calls/sees himself as). In the song, the lyrics refer to his own entirely monochrome view of the world, and how Till has broken it. He voices his desire to metaphorically be stuck inside of Till's mind ‘like a parasite’. Later, he name-drops Till's song "Unknown till the end", confirming that the song is directed at Till.

Scars (Song)

Till's second SUB song, which is his response to Ivan based on multiple references to Cure and Paratise, as well as their overall relationship. On song's cover Till is surrounded by children, including Ivan, who looks at his back. In the lyrics, he is grateful to Ivan for the fight and life that he gave him at the cost of his own. That's Till's "scars" that "remember everything" - a line that combines the titles of the two Till (and Ivan) focused comics. Some examples of Till responding to Ivan include Till singing "And still, I read you" that seems to be a response to Cure’s line "Read my soul" (kor. "read me") and "I know your warmth, even in its chill" that seems to be a response to Ivan’s Paratise line "Within my song, my heart, my voice, there was no warmth to be found".

Fanon

After the release of ROUND 2 and ROUND 3, IvanTill quickly rose to fame, with a lot of official art and fan art being made of the two romantically/platonically. While their relationship had been shown from Ivan's point of view, it was yet to really be shown from Till's point of view for majority of the series, which is why, despite various hints in official material, there was a debate about Till's feelings towards Ivan. On October 22nd 2025 an official sub song titled "Scars" describing Till’s feelings towards Ivan and their relationship came out.

When ROUND 6 was released, pictures and videos of IvanTill's kiss quickly spread, causing the ship and Alien Stage to gain even more popularity. Alien Stage, specifically ROUND 6 and IvanTill, went trending on Twitter and Tiktok, and ROUND 6 was able to reach 1M views in less than 3 days. Much fanart about ROUND 6 was made, most noticeably, redraws of IvanTill as other ships.

Despite the fact that Till used to like Mizi, the creators and fans both pair Ivan and Till together, and the two are commonly paired alongside Mizi with Sua, and even have parallels to the ship. They are also commonly seen to have a frenemies trope within the fandom, with Till being more angry and chaotic and Ivan being calm and playful.

It is the most written ship in the ALIEN STAGE AO3 tag, with over 7,200+ works.

• On October 7th, 2022, QMENG posted a meme where Till is seen in a cat maid outfit, and Ivan is blushing.
  • On the same day, QMENG posted a picture of Till saying "Haha! Weak human pets...I'll have to beat you with the blood of music running in my body! Hehe!" with Ivan behind him thinking about supposedly "+18 thoughts". It was then animated, voiced over, then published on YouTube and Twitter. In the animated version, romantic saxophone music was added when Ivan appeared.
• QMENG has also posted two other official arts with Till and Ivan. One shows them when they were younger, lying in the grass. Ivan is staring at Till in it while Till stares at the sky. It's named "Observation". The other shows them in present day on a stage, Ivan is also staring at Till while Till appears to be singing/talking calmly. It is named "Decision".
  • This art was later paralleled by a teaser art piece for ROUND 6 posted on the YouTube account's community page, revealing the name of the song, "Cure". Ivan in it is reaching out for Till covered in scratches and bandages, with Ivan in focus and Till out of it, his eyes closed. Later a similar scene appears within the ROUND 6 MV itself.
• Ivan's voice actor, Park Byeong Hoon, covered the song 'Slow It Down' as Ivan singing about Till.
  • He also sang the first part of 'Unknown (Till The End)'.
• After ROUND 6, many fans put “89/70” in their display names on social media (most commonly on TikTok) to symbolize the pair.
• Photocards sold during NYCC 2024 depict the characters with hearts seeping out of cracks in their skin. Ivan is depicted trying to keep his cracks together, symbolizing how he keeps his emotions hidden, yet in the end he is unable to stop himself from loving Till. Till's crack is located on the same spot as the cheek wound Ivan wiped blood from in a Round 6 flashback.
• On Ivan's profile page, his intimacy with Till is 100%, while Till's intimacy with Ivan is 70%.
  • Ivan's comment about Till is: "The most interesting, the type that I can't understand at all? I'm not expecting it, but I wish I occupied the most space in his head."
  • Till's comment about Ivan is: "It feels like I'm being chased around but I can't find any evidence so the teachers are only suspicious of me! I'm so pissed! He's always done things I don't like and I don't understand him... Anyway, he's a bother."
• In the official Actors AU Till is the older, more experienced actor. Ivan makes multiple mistakes during the kiss scene with Till, so they have to redo it multiple times, and Ivan expects a scolding, but Till kindly encourages him instead, and his coolness completely wins Ivan over in that universe.
  • Ivan comes to call Till "hyung" in the caption of their selfie together (with Luka).
  • While drunk, Luka, who's close to Ivan in this AU (being from the same agency and idol group), suggests that kissing makes people grow closer, at which everyone's shocked and blushing, while Till is confused before he also blushes while turning towads a bit horrified looking Ivan, asking what Luka's talking about. Next panel shows Ivan and Till very flustered together, now openly assuming that it's about them, while nervously insisting that it was about "that one" in their kiss scene. As the chaos goes on, Ivan asks Till to go get some fresh air, and Till agrees, both of them blushing still.
• Many fanartists mix-match and create art for AUs that were created based on designs from official IvanTill merch.
• In one of VIVINOS' official comics on Twitter, Till's human mom is shown to be praying to ANAKT (whom she believed was the superior force/god), that Till would be truly loved and cared for, and never be alone.
  • Ivan's name in fact means, "Gift of God".
• In December 2024 during fanmeet events, many Alien Stage shikishis were drawn by VIVINOS and QMENG, and with that, several pieces were created that show Ivan and Till's dynamic together. Many showed Till having feelings for Ivan, the most pointed out being one of Till standing in the middle, with Ivan on his left, Mizi on his right, and the caption above reading, "Dotchi suki? ("Which one do you like?" in Japanese)"
• Some fans have noticed the two seemingly have matching earings in the Actors AU comic relased on February 28 "Cheers!" and believe that it's not a coincidence considering VIVINOS's attention to details, some have also pointed out that matching earrings are usually something Korean gay couples share.
• In the Guangzhou Art Fair, when a fan asked VIVINOS if there is a specific moment Ivan feels happiest with Till, VIVINOS answered that when "they aren't fighting and just spending time quietly together."
• During the fanmeet in LA, VIVINOS and QMENG answered a couple of questions from fans. One of the fans asked if Till still remebers his mother, Io, and VIVINOS affirmed and teased that Till is overflowing with love and that he must have received lots of affection even in Anakt. "Even at time, that affection can come through teasing and bullying" seemingly referred to Ivan.
  • At the same fanmeet, another fan asked whether Till's mother, Io, would like Ivan. VIVINOS answered positively, saying she would, since he and Till are friends who are "always together and inseparable". It is also mentioned Till has drawn Ivan and his other friends before.
• The meteor shower is also brought up at the fanmeet when a fan asked about Ivan's feelings regarding it and Till's ultimate decision to turn back. VIVINOS and QMENG mention it took Ivan a lot of courage and answered that he wasn't confident Till would come with him. They also talked about Ivan's feelings following that night and how it ultimately became the first moment he decided to love despite the pain, his inner self becoming more twisted.
• One of the pages featured in the Alien Stage album is the music sheet of the song in Round 6 "CURE", the page is scribbled by Till and covered with an unfinished drawing of Ivan.
• Once again, many ALNST shikishis were drawn, a lot of them Ivan&Till, Till blushing at Ivan, Ivan pulling bunny Till's ear and bunny Till reacting with "?!♡" or matching arts of the two.&&&
• In the beginning of the series during the fan events, the Ivantill shikishis were drawn by the creators with their surface dynamic of "annoying and annoyed", with Till usually being depicted having feelings for Mizi. Then, in December 2024 shikishis depicting Till having feelings for both Ivan and Mizi were drawn for the first time. After that, gradually as the series progressed the creators have drawn more romantic Ivantill shikishis, and quickly stopped depicting Till having feelings for Mizi, never depicting it again after release of Karma. As of now, Till is shown to have feelings for Ivan (with blushing) in most of their many shared shikishis.
• In the merch set featuring the Sports au,"Passion.love" for the 3rd anniversary, Ivantill are the only ones referred to as "partners" on their individual cards, while Mizisua are called "icons" and Hyuluka "champions"
• The back of the cards also have a drawing with Ivan&Till and a line with a heart in the middle like the other two couples, making it clear that the in the Sports Au the two of them have feelings for each other, since they are not on the same team and can't be called "sport partners"
• Many have also speculated the two of them switched jackets, since in the same merch, in one of their individual cards, Till's jacket’s sleeves look longer on him than usual and Ivan's look shorter.
• In some past merch, Till wore a bear sleepmask closely resembling and clearly representing Ivan, and the Alien Stage 3rd anniversary merch features sleepmasks once again. This time Ivan sleepmask is the same one Till wore in previous official arts, confirming it represented Ivan, and the new cat Till mask has the same pink bow Ivan had in those arts, the two of them seem to have either switched sleepmasks or gave their sleepmask to one another.,
• In the Alien Stage x 森雨漫谷仓 merch for the ALNST third anniversary,featuring the partners series, love series ,passion series and sports series,both Ivan and Till 's photo cards are shown with the song "CURE" and the red background from Till's cards even spreads to Ivan's
