IzuTan is the slash ship between Tanjiro Kamado and Izuku Midoriya from the Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia fandoms.

Izuku and Tanjiro have never interacted with each other, since they don’t exist in the same universe. However, their universes do share a similarity, which is that Izuku and Tanjiro both face off against evil. This evil meaning villains for Izuku and demons for Tanjiro.
Both needed to train before they could properly use their abilities. This being a breathing technique for Tanjiro and to be able to receive a quirk for Izuku. Whilst both are training they become stronger and in Tanjiro’s case learns the water breathing technique. On the other hand, Izuku gets stronger and receives All Might’s power at the end of the training. The two of them also trained for a long period of time, for Izuku this being 10 months before receiving the quirk and 2 years for Tanjiro. Both were also trained by an individual who used to be or is considered to be one of the strongest, Urokodaki for Tanjiro and All Might for Izuku.
After both of their training, both Izuku and Tanjiro partook in an exam to be able enter their respective groups. For Tanjiro this exam was called the final selection in which he needed to survive from demons for a duration of 7 days. While Izuku had a written exam and a practical exam in which he needed to defeat machines or help others to gain points. During their exam the two both save someone.
Izuku and Tanjiro are both deemed as kind and good willed individuals. Since the two both share their kindness and empathy towards others no matter who they are. This is evident by the fact that Izuku shows empathy towards villains while most people don’t and for Tanjiro it is evident since he shows empathy towards demons while most don’t. Izuku and Tanjiro also both would do anything in order to protect the ones they care about. They also both protect those in need.
However, despite both saving people they do it in a different manner. Since Izuku saves people by defeating a villain and handing them over to the police. Whereas Tanjiro saves people by killing the demons, which would be seen as unlawful in Izuku’s universe.

IzuTan is a somewhat known KNY/MHA crossover pairing. This pairing mainly came to be due to the fact that Izuku and Tanjiro are considered somewhat similar, since they are both considered kind and good willed.
Izuku and Tanjiro are both sometimes depicted in the same universe in fanfics and art of the two of them. While in others either one of them would travel to the other person’s universe. Most commonly it is Izuku, who would travel to Tanjiro’s universe. When present in the same universe, Izuku and Tanjiro will either be depicted as UA students or as part of the demon slayer corps. In most of the stories that have them in the same universe, Izuku is portrayed as a family friend of the Kamado’s.
Fans of this pairing tend to believe that the two would eventually fall in love, when they meet. Others tend to prefer them as just friends.
