Janeyuan is the femslash ship between Jane Doe and Zhu Yuan from the Zenless Zone Zero fandom.
Canon[]
Jane Doe and Zhu Yuan are both members of Public Section, serving under the "Criminal Investigation Special Response Team" in Janus Precinct, with Zhu Yuan being the captain and Jane being the consultant, alongside their colleagues Qingyi and Seth Lowell. The full details of the relationship between the two are currently unknown, however it is implied that Zhu Yuan and Jane may have known each other for some time before the events of the main story, especially given Zhu Yuan was the only one who was aware Jane was an undercover agent and had been working for Public Section for a long time.
Undercover R&B[]
In the beginning of "Undercover R&B", Qingyi accidentally interrupts a Public Section meeting that is being led by Zhu Yuan, regarding a mission called "Operation Hooked" that is related to a group that Public Section intends to catch, the "Mountain Lions". Zhu Yuan is standing in front of a screen featuring an image of several people, including Jane, and reveals the target of their mission to be the Mountain Lions, going on to say that aside from the leader Razor, they should be careful of one of the new recruits Razor hired, a woman called "Jane Doe". Zhu Yuan then states that Jane had played a key role in several of the recent criminal activities and had been able to quickly rise in the Mountain Lions ranks, naming Jane as one of the targets of the mission. Afterwards, Qingyi informs everyone in the room that she had a received a report stating a member of the Mountain Lions had been detained in a Hollow construction site, prompting it to be decided that Zhu Yuan, Qingyi and Seth would head out immediately to conduct Operation Hooked.
Some time later, the three officers successfully make their way into the Hollow and engage in combat with the members of the Mountain Lions. When they make their way to the third floor, Zhu Yuan spots Jane standing on a roof and points her gun up at Jane, immediately identifying her as one of the targets. Jane jumps down from the roof and is joined by more members of the Mountain Lions, who engage in combat with Public Section before attempting to flee, only to be blocked by Qingyi and Zhu Yuan as Seth begins to fight with Jane. In the middle of the fight, some construction workers accidentally walk in, and Jane uses the opportunity to run forward, to which Zhu Yuan and Qingyi notice immediately and run at her, but she drops an Etheric Matter smoke bomb which isolates Zhu Yuan, Qingyi and Seth from everyone else. The Mountain Lions and Jane prepare to leave with the hostages, but Seth runs forward out of the smoke and is captured by the Mountain Lions when he takes the place of the hostages.
Later on back at Public Section, Zhu Yuan reports that they were unable to apprehend Jane, and Seth and some citizens were captured by the gang in the process. Qingyi laments the failed mission, preparing to be demoted and even believing that Zhu Yuan was in denial about the mission failing, to which Zhu Yuan tells Qingyi that the mission did not fail and was actually half successful. Qingyi makes a snide remark about how the Mountain Lions are like rodents and they should send a "rat" to be their leader, prompting Zhu Yuan to reveal that was actually exactly what their plan was. She hands Qingyi Jane's ID, which reveals her to be one of Public Section's consultants of criminal behavior. Zhu Yuan goes on to say that Jane had been working with her and was the "rat" they had sent in as an inside agent for the operation, and the real purpose behind their mission a few hours ago had been to put on a show that would allow Jane to gain more trust and infiltrate the top ranks. However, the mission was only half successful as Seth really had been captured by the Mountain Lions.
Whilst undercover, Jane makes many preparations to help the hostages and Seth successfully escape as well as enable Public Security to take down the Mountain Lions. After Jane is betrayed by the leader of the Mountain Lions, she and Seth team up and defeat him, and after running through the Hollow to the exit they appear to be trapped by the rest of the remaining Mountain Lions. Jane spends a long time taunting them, successfully distracting the Mountain Lions to buy Public Security enough time to enter the Hollow, as she had already contacted Zhu Yuan previously for help. Led by Zhu Yuan, Public Security enter the Hollow and arrest all of the Mountain Lions, to which Jane smiles gently at Zhu Yuan and remarks that she finally caught up.
With the mission having been successfully completed and Jane having officially become a member of the "Criminal Investigation Special Response Team", a few days later at Public Security whilst waiting for Zhu Yuan to finish a meeting, Qingyi teases Seth by re-enacting what he said to Zhu Yuan about Jane right after they had arrested the Mountain Lions. Zhu Yuan appears right at that moment, having finished her meeting and also re-enacts what she had said to Seth back then, introducing Jane as a criminal behavior expert who had been working with her for a long time and was an informant who had been involved in the operation. Zhu Yuan then tells Seth it was thanks to him and Jane that the operation was able to be completed, to which Qingyi asks where Jane is right now. Zhu Yuan tells Qingyi that there was a new case she was required to be the consultant for, but Jane had told her before she began to prepare for it she needed to repay a favor.

Despite lacking canon interactions, Janeyuan is undeniably a popular ship in the Zenless Zone Zero fandom, and one of the most popular femslash ships, being Jane's most popular femslash ship, and Zhu Yuan's second most popular femslash ship, with ZhuQing being her most popular femslash ship.
Similar to many ships in the overall Hoyoverse fandom, Janeyuan originated from Twitter, and was popularized on both Twitter and TikTok, as well as recieving many fanfictions on AO3 with the rising popularity, the Korean Twitter artist "chibiya1010" being a significant contributer to their popularity due to their artwork.
Most shippers believe that the personalities of the two complement each other perfectly, as someone as teasing and outgoing as Jane is perfect for the serious and secretly shy Zhu Yuan. Most shippers also believe due being complete opposites, they perfectly fulfill the Opposites Attract trope. However, there are also some shippers who like to lean into a more angsty dynamic, mostly regarding Jane, as several small details in the game hint she had a difficult past and her personality may not be genuine, therefore shippers like to believe Zhu Yuan would be an amazing and supportive girlfriend for Jane.
Shippers of Janeyuan usually like to portray Jane in the more dominant role, whilst Zhu Yuan takes on the more submissive role, and it is overall rare to see them in any other dynamic. Jane being the one to bring out the shy side of Zhu Yuan by teasing and flustering her is often a common trope in both fanart and fanfiction.
Janeyuan is mostly rivaled by the more popular ships of SethJane and ZhuQing, as well as ships such as BelleJane, ZhuBelle and Zhuyabi.
Currently, Janeyuan have 20 works on AO3, and are the 7th most written femslash ship under the Zenless Zone Zero tag.

- In one of Jane's Invite Trust Events, she tells a story to the Proxy about how Zhu Yuan would receive phone calls during dinner and would sneak away to answer them in private, and that Jane had thought she was having an affair until she found out it was Zhu Yuan's mother calling her every day.
- In the "Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship" event, when tracking down some criminals who had stolen both paintings and a boat, Zhu Yuan mentions to the Proxy that according to Jane's intel the criminals had set up a base deep within the Hollow.
- In Japanese, Jane refers to Zhu Yuan as "朱鳶ちゃん" (Shuen-chan) in her low HP voiceline with Zhu Yuan. However, she always refers to both Qingyi and Seth as just their names, with no sort of honorific attached.
- Jane is 170cm whilst Zhu Yuan is 175cm, giving them a height difference of 5cm.
- In Jane's Character Teaser "Under Arrest", Tomiya tells Jane that she was assigned by Zhu Yuan personally to come and pick Jane up.
- In the official Version 1.1 art, both Qingyi and Seth are shown to be facing the screen, whereas Zhu Yuan is instead looking to her right, right at where Jane is behind them. This may be symbolizm on how Zhu Yuan was the only one who was aware Jane was an undercover agent.
