JayTim is the family ship between Jason Todd and Tim Drake from the DC Comics and Young Justice fandoms.

Due to the way Tim became Robin after Jason's death, he wasn't very fond of him initially. Feeling that Tim was proof that Bruce never cared about Jason. The second Robin's absence and how Batman was acting after he "disappeared" from sight was what got Tim to become Jason's successor, as he had noticed that Jason's death had caused Bruce to become a darker person. Even though the two had started off as enemies when they met, Tim and Jason eventually came to accept one another as allies and bat brothers, while Dick does what he can to keep the peace between them.

Batman: The Adventures Continue
Even though Jason wasn't seen or mentioned in any of the episodes of Batman: The Animated Series or any of the other cartoon shows from the DC Animated Universe, he does appear in one of new comic stories that continues the series from where it left off and fills in one and two gaps. [1] Tim becomes aware of Jason's exitance and his time as the Robin before him when Bruce and Alfred learned that Jason was alive, as it gets Tim to ask them who was Jason and what happened to him, even though Bruce didn't want to waste any time to find Jason, he does have Alfred tell Tim Jason's story that helps Tim to gain a better understanding of Jason. When it looked like that Batman had returned from his search, Tim realised that it was Jason in disguise when "Batman" apologized and tells Jadon that falling for his trick would make him a poor Robin, after Tim had caught Jason off guard so he could knock him onto the ground. Jason had gone to the Batcave to kidnap Tim so he can use him to force Bruce to kill the Joker, Tim had tried his best to fight Jason but the former Robin manged to knock Tim out and grabs the kid's Robin suit before he places the unconscious Tim over his shoulders. Jason's plan requires Tim to wear his Robin suit, minus the utility-belt, while keeping him in a small glass box that will fill with water. Tim becomes aware of this when he felt the water beginning to pour into the case and wakes up to find Red Hood waving at him. He tells Tim that he knows what it was like to be powerless while trapped, before advising him to work on his breath stroke, as he plans to keep Tim in there for a while. Thanks to Batman, after Red Hood brought him and Joker to where he was keeping Tim, he was able to secretly tell the young Robin how he can escape the flooding glass box. Despite what Jason had done to Tim, he gets Batman to "focus on the Robin who needs" him, as he knew that Bruce needed to get Tim out of the damaged, flooding chamber as soon as possibly when Jason allows himself to fall into the raging water, so Bruce's focus would be on Tim than him. Because of what happened to Jason Bruce began to wonder if letting Tim and Barbara into his world of crime fighting was a wise choice, Tim tells him that Jason had made his choice as much as he had made his and he wasn't going anywhere. As for Jason, he was found and patched up by Slade and Sunny.
Batman: Death in the Family[]
When the interaction movie version of Under the Red Hood, Batman: Death in the Family has viewers decided to have Bruce die in Jason's place and select events that have him become a murderous Red Robin than Red Hood, Jason meets a young Tim Drake in the good ending of Red Robin's battle with Two-Face. Tim had manged to sneak up behind Two-Face and taser him to save Red Robin. When Robin gets up and is about to kill Two-Face, Tim stops him from doing so by pointing one of the guns Jason had dropped at him. Red Robin tells the kid that evil can't be caged only killed, but Tim mangas to convince Jason to end his killing spree as he reminds Red Robin that he used to stand for something when he was good, before he became the bad guy and that he should use the pain he feels to become strong, as killing Two-Face won't bring back whoever or whatever he lost or make the pain he feels disappear. This gets Jason to remember Bruce's final words to him and what his adoptive father stood for. Along with Tim helping Jason to realis what he had become. After he puts his guns away he asks the "stubborn kid" who opened his eyes to tell him his name and sometime after that Tim became Jason's sidekick, who does by Batkid than Robin. As Tim helps Jason to remember what Batman stood for, so he won't stray from the path he set him on again.
Gotham Knights[]
Before the events of the 2022 game, Jason gets excepted back into the Batfamily and has acknowledged Tim as the current Robin, who is still adjusting to the role Jason and Dick held before him. Like Dick, Jason has acted like an older brother towards Tim, while the third Robin tries to lend Red Hood and the others a hand. Jason, Tim, Dick and Barbara were aware that Bruce has created a set of videos to inform the four of his death, for when the mission gets him killed and the four have to watch over Gotham without him. The young Knights didn't take is seriously from thinking that he'll always be there and laughed if off. Until the night Bruce was attacked within the Batcave and managed to send a case file to his young partners, before the cave exploded. Red Hood held Robin back as the sight of Bruce's dead body nearly got him to dash towards him. To see if there was a chance to revive him.
Bruce's death filled Jason with anger and to remember the things he lost from his own time being dead. As for Tim, he decrypted the file Bruce send them and the four Knights agreed to look into it so they'll know why their mentor was killed. Tim also knew that Jason doesn't want to be reminded of himself being dead and what he be came when he was redirected, Tim tried to be careful with the subject. Even though Tim came close to mentioning it when the Knights learned about Harley Quinn helping Batman. After Jason was able to work through the thoughts of his death and began to joke about it again, Tim decided to ask him if the Lazarus pit had hurt him when he was brought back to life. Jason could tell why Tim was asking him that, as he tells the third Robin that the pit had changed him and that they shouldn't use one to bring Bruce back. When Tim asked Jason what he should done then, Jason advised Tim to simply grief so he'll be able to work through the loss that the both of them share with the others.
When playing as Robin, Red Hood wishes him and advised Robin to be careful during the game's first encounter with Talia al Ghul. Tim even speaks up for Jason when Talia asked him if he thinks of Jason as a monster, for what the Lazarus Pit did to him.

Comic fans are aware that DCAU Tim Drake was given a similar backstory to Jason in the Batman: The Animated Series. Along with the Batman Beyond film having young Tim be tortured by the Joker. This got fans to think that Tim was also serving as Jason Todd in the series, long before the continuum comics of the animated series finally added Jason to its universe. As well as having Tim and Jason meet in the series' Red Son Rises arc issue. Because the two have appeared in Young Justice and Titans, it has the family-ship be supported in those DC related fandoms, despite their limited interactions in them. Along with fans of the Gotham Knights game liking the brothers bond it gave Jason and Tim, as they work through their shared loss of Bruce and doing what they can to keep Gotham safe in his place. Since the comics first had Jason resenting Tim before he eventually began to accept him, while Gotham Knights had Jason looking out for Tim and vice versa with Tim using his tech smarts to help Jason improve his gear.
On AO3, there are 3936+ gen fics and over 5255+ slash fanfics. The larger number of slash fics could be due to those who see them as brothers, often invalidating adoption as a type of family. While they didn't become adoptive brothers till post "One Year Later", which was published just over a year after Jason's resurrection. The two have also been adoptive brothers since the start of the Prime Earth timeline. Making them brothers for almost as long as Jason has been re-introduced back into the comics. Just as one group of fans feel drawn to the brother bond the two have formed, another group prefers to focus on their rivalry. As some Gotham by Gaslight fanfics and art are of Jason looking out for Tim beside Dick, before and after their first encounter with the Batman.

Trivia[]
- Even though the Batman Arkham series doesn't have Tim and Jason meet or interact on screen, they were aware of each other. As Tim was recruited when Jason was captured by the Joker, who used this fact to hurt Jason into hating Batman.
- The Joker in Batman's head even compared Tim with Jason from sensing how worried he was about Tim and reminding him of Jason, to the point it had got Batman to call Tim "Jason" by mistake. That slip of the tough gets Tim to comment on how he hasn't heard Jason's name be said in a while.
