Jeffmo is the slash ship between Jeffrey "Jeff" Randell and Ryan "Sumo" Sumouski from the Clarence fandom.
Canon[]
Season 1[]
In Clarence Gets a Girlfriend (S1E6) Clarence asked Jeff and Sumo for help about his dating. At the restaurant where Clarence has his date, Jeff and Sumo are together at another table looking at him from afar.
- Jeff – “Look at him, just charming it up.”
- Sumo – “Our little boy's all grown up.”
Clarence splashes her milkshake on her girlfriend and throws his coat on top of her while Sumo proudly tells Jeff that he taught him that. Clarence's date is ruined, so they both break up and they become friends again.
Clarence tells her that if she want to catch frogs behind the school and she accepts. Jeff and Sumo also go with them and Sumo catch a frog for Jeff.
Season 2[]
In Space Race (S2E25) Sumo built a rocket to increase his school grades, which at the end it helped him not to go to summer school. At night, when Clarence, Sumo, and Jeff are together, Jeff who is next to Sumo gives him a compliment recognizing for what he may be capable of doing it.
- Jeff – “I have to commend you on your rocket engineering. Man, I didn't know you had in it you.”
- Sumo – “Aw, thanks.”
Season 3[]
In Video Store (S3E39) Sumo is playing with a cutout.
Clarence, Jeff and Sumo want to rent the movie "Skateboard Dog 2: Pup Police" to watch it together. However when Sumo was about to get the last one on the top of the shelf, he fails to catch it and he fall. Jeff helps him to stand up despite he had warned him from the beginning.
Then, each one pick another movie to watch together. Jeff finds the Romance section, but he starts fantasizing about himself ignoring that Sumo's listening to him. That makes Sumo think if Jeff's is asking him.
- Jeff – “What- what are you gonna do tonight? Are you gonna... We could go to get some seafood together?”
- Sumo – “You're talking to me?”
The video store employee appears who made Jeff feel more uncomfortable and ran away.
Fanon[]
On AO3, Jeffmo is the most written ship for both Jeffrey "Jeff" Randell and Ryan "Sumo" Sumouski. It is also the most written ship in the Clarence tag. It currently has 33 works.
The ship is the most popular because they share many moments together and they complement each other despite some of their differences.
Also, the show had two popular episodes centered around them that make the ship increased, which are The Break Up (S1E48)" and "A Sumoful Mind (S3E28)".
Even though in general it's difficult that some ships became canon, especially queer representation, in Clarence there are canonical sapphic/lesbian and achillean/gay characters and couples. Specifically one popular is Jeff's moms.
