Jerlita is the het ship between Jeremie Belpois and Aelita Schaeffer from the Code Lyoko fandom.

Canon[]

Jeremie first met Aelita when he accidentally activates a supercomputer in an abandoned factory, where in the main screen he sees Aelita, who doesn't remember anything of how she got inside the computer or even her name, to which Jeremie decided to call her "Maya" after she asked him to call her something different than "Artificial Intelligence".

After, Ulrich and Odd became virtualized to Lyoko and got devirtualized by monsters, Jeremie wanted to materialize Maya as well, albeit without success, and after deactivating her first tower, Maya discovered that her real name is Aelita and that an evil artificial Intelligence named XANA used the towers from Lyoko to attack the real world and Aelita insisted to shut down the Supercomputer for the Earth's safety, but her new friends decided to keep fighting XANA until Jeremie can find a way to materialize Aelita to rhe real world.

Jeremie made several attempts to develop a materialization program for Aelita, which had some disastrous results as accidentally bugging Aelita, but in the meantime Jeremie spent his free time talking with Aelita in his computer, with him telling her about the real world and Aelita expressing hope to become real and being able to kiss Jeremie, making him blush.

One day, due to Odd accidentally spilling candy on Jeremie's keyboard, he manages to succesfully finish Aelita's materialization program, much to Jeremie's delight, who wants to use it immediately, but refrains from doing so at his friends' insistence saying that he can't materialize Aelita right away without preparations like a birth certificate, as she has no parents. This makes Jeremie to begin to forge documents for Aelita, but is cut short due to XANA throwing Yumi into the Digital sea, which forces him to use the materialization program to save her.

In one ocassion, he met a new student named Taelia and mistook her for a materialized Aelita due to their striking resemblance. However, Taelia was nothing like Aelita, as she was rude and showed the Supercomputer to the police, while the real Aelita was still imprisoned on Lyoko.

After an argument, Jeremie and Aelita had an argument and he decided to have Yumi to virtualize him to apologize to Aelita in person. However, the virtualization didn't go well and Jeremie ended up trapped inside a virtual limbo between Lyoko and the real world. This led Aelita to run across the four sectors to activate their way towers to save Jeremie from being deleted. When she finally succeeded, Aelita and Jeremie met face at face in the limbo, with them touching their index fingers, which materialized Jeremie safely back to the real world.

Finally, Jeremie managed to finish Aelita's materialization program and after he and his friends enrolled her at Kadic, they rushed to the factory to materialize her. However, they were delayed by Jeremie accidentally bringing the wrong CD, Jim unintentionally making Jeremie to injure his ankle and XANA attacking the tower where they intended to devirtualize Aelita. Thanks to Ulrich's efforts of distracting XANA's megatanks. Aelita finally arrived to Earth for the first time and Jeremie happily tells her "Welcome to Earth".

The next day, after Aelita had her first class, the Lyoko Warriors and Jim went to the factory to deactivate the Supercomputer and XANA, but as soon Jeremie pulled down the lever, Aelita fainted, which forced Jeremie to reactivate the Supercomputer and learned that XANA gave Aelita a virus to link her to the Supercomputer, meaning they couldn't shut it down without harming Aelita until they found an antivirus.

Soon Jeremie offered to walk Aelita to Yumi's house, and on their way, he gave her a flower, and the two took some pictures on a photo booth, and Aelita held Jeremie's hand saying that thanks to him she's on Earth, which makes him blush. When they arrived to Yumi's house, Aelita thanked him, told him that despite the virus it was the best day of her life and kissed him on the cheek, much to Jeremie's delight.

The next morning, after XANA materializes his kangrelats to Earth, Aelita decides to go back to Lyoko to deactivate the tower, despite the risks her virus could have for her. After she succeeds, Aelita informs Jeremie she still has the virus on her and insisted on staying on Lyoko for the time being, much to Jeremie's heartbreak, who was reassured by Yumi that Aelita could still visit them for a few hours on Earth. Which cheered Jeremie up, and he looked at his pictures with Aelita (which he somehow keeps after the Return of the Past) and smiles.

Sometime later, they got Aelita enrolled at Kadic again as Odd's false cousin. During a field trip on a forest, Jeremie and Aelita partened together and went to draw pictures of plants. But Jeremie was forced to return to his room for his laptop and left Aelita in the forest reassuring her that monsters didn't exist in real life but she was soon scared by visions of wolves and ran into an abandoned house, where she was attacked by XANA to lure the other Lyoko Warriors there, with only Odd and Aelita managing to escape to deactivate the tower in Lyoko to save Ulrich and Yumi. However, Aelita still wondered about the visions she had and Jeremie gave her a new pink cellphone as a gift to keep in contact.

During all season 2, they spent their time finding an antivirus for Aelita, however, they had some moments of conflict, when Aelita discovered her liking for music and decided to be the DJ at the school party instead of searching the antivirus, but they manage to patch things up.

When Franz Hopper supposedly escaped from XANA to help the Lyoko Warriors to fight him, and he accused Jeremie of endangering his friends with the scanners, Aelita was the only one who came to Jeremie's defense, reminding the others that it was for Jeremie using the scanners that she's on Earth. When Jeremie discovered "Franz" to be actually one of XANA's spectres, he rushed to the factory in time to save Aelita from being virtualized into Lyoko directly to the Sczyphozoa and to trick Franz with a decoy of Aelita.

After discovering that Aelita is actually Franz Hopper's daughter and that XANA didn't give her a virus, but actually stole a fragment of her, Aelita became angry at being robbed of her childhood by her father sending her to Lyoko and decided to shut down the Supercomputer to destroy XANA, despite knowing it would destroy her as well. Jeremie soon discovered this and quickly reactivated the Supercomputer and asked Aelita why he did it, to which she replied she wanted to save the world, but Jeremie reassures her they'll get their fragment and she will be able to live her life afterwards.

However, after being tricked into retrieving a fake fragment of Aelita, she ended up trapped all alone in Sector 5, which allowed the Sczyphozoa to steal her memory and enable XANA to escape the Supercomputer, leaving Aelita lifeless, much to Jeremie's heartbreak. Then, Aelita was revived by her father, who restored her missing fragment, which was her memories of her original life on Earth, which devirtualized Aelita, who fell in Jeremie's arms and he reassured her that all of them are together into defeating XANA for good.

The two remained close, but at one ocassion, when Aelita wanted to find more about her father, Jeremie told Aelita she should think of the future and let her past behind, angering Aelita as she spent a decade imprisoned inside a software and she went to her old childhood room in tears, where she was found and comforted by Odd and the two agreed to go into an unauthorized mission to find if Franz is still alive, while Jeremie began to regret his insensivity to Aelita, but soon became angry at learning that Aelita and Odd snuck into sector 5. However, it also helped them to stop an attack from XANA, and Jeremie allowed Aelita to find data about her father, who turned to be still alive.

After William was captured by XANA, Jeremie and Aelita worked together to develop the Skidbladnir to explore XANA's replikas, which got the two in detention by Jim.

At winter break, Jeremie was worried to leave Aelita all alone at the academy and wanted to stay with her, but she told him he had to spend time with his relatives, and when Jeremie went with his father, it's revealed he told his dad about Aelita and he thinks she's a nice girl, after getting a call from Yumi that Aelita is in trouble, he tries to make an excuse to return to school, but his father realizes that Jeremie is going back for Aelita and willingly drives him back to Kadic. After saving Aelita from XANA's trap, Jeremie invites her to spend the holidays with his family as his parents invited her, to which Aelita agrees.

After William was freed from XANA, Jeremie decided to use his multiagent program to destroy it, but he didn't have enough power to activate it, so Franz Hopper arrived and gave it to him, but at the cost of his own life, much to Aelita's sadness of losing his father, who after destroying XANA for good, she cried on Jeremie's arms.

When they decided to shut down the Supercomputer, Aelita was reluctant to do so and told Jeremie that it was because it meant to let go of her father and her past but decided to do it to live a more "carefree" life, which Jeremie agrees to.
