Jester Trio is the poly ship between Marx, Dimentio and Jevil from the Kirby, Paper Mario and Deltarune fandoms.

Canon

Marx, Dimentio and Jevil are all jester-themed villains in their respective games. What further connects them is that they weren't shown to be the main villain, Dimentio initially appeared to be just another henchman of Count Bleck, Marx only appeared sporadically after serving as the main threat of Kirby Super Star and Jevil is an optional boss that many players are unlikely to find on first playthrough. All three of them establish themselves to be two-faced and far more dangerous than they initially appear to be, Dimentio stands out in that he was manipulating his own group and ended up upstaging them as the far more serious threat. Though all three of them are said to be insane, Jevil was said to be perfectly kind prior to being corrupted by knowledge and Marx could actually channel his abilities for the greater good, leaving Dimentio as the only one who is truly evil. Also, all three of them gained more power through a mystical artifact, Marx took control of Popstar after tricking Kirby into summoning Nova, Dimentio stole the Chaos Heart to reshape reality in his own image and Jevil went insane in the first place due to a Shadow Crystal showing his existence as meaningless.

The idea of crossing these three over appears to have started with tumblr user @mystery--mist drawing fanart of them a few months after the release of Deltarune's first chapter. The blog "ask-jesters-trio" was started by her in January 2019, though it didn't contain any lore until March of that year when posting a piece of art showing Marx celebrating his birthday (March 21st) with his "new partners in crime". The proper askblog was established a few days afterwards, with individual icons of each of them saying the number 6. The first ask was answered on April 16th and it naturally involved how the three of them met, Dimentio was going to answer it before being interrupted by the other two, so he imprisoned them to get his word in. Dimentio claims that he and Marx met in "Crossoverland", where all heroes and villains gathered and that he had known Marx since 2007. In a corner dedicated to jesters regardless of alignment, Dimentio ran into Marx and despite dismissing Marx as childish, the two bonded over their shared manipulation and betrayal. As Jevil arrived in Crossoverland just last year, they quickly integrated him into their group as Marx took a shine to him as early as he arrived. It was quiet until June, where they gave an update that they are currently on vacation, Jevil is "spreading chaos" and Dimentio says that they plan to join him later. When asked whether they live together, they all deny it, Dimentio especially admits that he wouldn't want to share a cell with Jevil. When asked whether they visited each other's universes, they also deny but wouldn't mind doing so, showing nefarious intentions. In October, someone asked whether the others met Seam while referring to them as an item, causing Dimentio and Marx to ask him about it, only for Seam to arrive and deny that they are romantically involved. November 1st has the three of them celebrate Jevil's birthday and Halloween simultaneously. Later, they celebrate Thanksgiving together, though they think it means that they should thank everyone, so they use that as an excuse to mess with other characters from their universes.

In 2020, an art posted by the blog celebrating the artist's birthday with the trio reveals that she also exists in the blog's universe. When a follower asks who the girl is, Mist addresses herself as the artist of the blog, freaked out by the jesters referring to her as their "slave" (Jevil), "servant" (Marx) and "oppressed" (Dimentio). Later, the three of them get into a fight over which one was the first to receive a cover of their theme from GaMetal. For Valentine's day, Mist shares Cupid's arrows with the jesters telling them to spread the love, with disastrous results.
