Jindy is the het ship between Jimmy Neutron and Cindy Vortex from the Jimmy Neutron fandom.
Canon[]
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001)[]
Cindy is established as Jimmy's personal bully and academic rival early on in the movie. When Jimmy uses a new bubble invention to get around after missing the school bus, Cindy's best friend Libby points him out to her, Cindy mocks him almost immediately for not thinking of installing brakes. Jimmy acts smug, but it turns out that Cindy is right when Jimmy doesn't know how to stop the bubble from bouncing and crashes into a tree. Luckily, the branches pop the bubble and Jimmy and his best friend Carl head to school.
At school, they enter class right as their mutual friend Sheen is holding yet another report on his favorite superhero, Cindy is next and tells holds a report about dinosaurs. She claims that girl dinosaurs are superior to boy dinosaurs, but Jimmy is annoyed at her, claiming that she's misinformed and tries to correct her. When Cindy belittles him for it, Jimmy wants to test his newest shrink ray on her head, but it does not work. Cindy pretends to shrink as the other students laugh, claiming that she's going to be just as small as "Neutron's brain". However, as class is dismissed, none of the students notice that the shrink ray did work on their teacher Miss Fowl.
However, when it comes to Jimmy disobeying his parents by going to the new amusement park anyway, Jimmy's plan to contact aliens bites him in the butt and the Yolkians believe that parents of Jimmy's hometown Retroville would make for an excellent sacrifice for their goddess. However, Jimmy and friends believe that it was them wishing on a shooting star that made the parents disappear, as they had so much fun without parental supervision that night. All the kids of Retroville enjoy a few days without parents telling them what to do, but the fun doesn't last and they all either get sick, hurt or miserable without the comfort their parents provided. Jimmy notices holes in the note "his parents" left for him and his robot dog Goddard confirmed that his parents never intended to abandon him, having recorded one of their conversations. Jimmy eventually figures out that all the parents have been abducted by aliens and word spreads that Jimmy is trying to fly into space with just Carl and Goddard. Cindy is in the lead to leech an angry mob of kids on Jimmy, but he manages to calm the masses by telling them that he's the only one who knows how to get their parents back.
So all the kids of Retroville work together to built spaceships out of amusement park rides and make course for Planet Yolkus. Taking a short break on an asteroid, the kids take a moment to comfort each other by telling what their parents did for them when they felt bad. During a heart-to-heart between his best friend Carl about potentially getting interested in girls, Jimmy briefly makes eye contact with Cindy. But when Carl reminds him that they're not supposed to like girls yet, Jimmy quickly looks away from her and Cindy huffs annoyedly.
When they finally reach the enemy planet, Jimmy tells the kids that he will lead a scouting group to look for their parents, he allows Cindy and Libby to accompany him with Carl, Sheen and Goddard. However, when they discover the parents in preparation to be sacrificed, they find out that they had been mind-controlled and alarm the Yolkians to capture their kids. During their escort to the dungeon, Cindy and Libby bother the Yolkians with questions about why they need their parents, they reveal that they got the idea to sacrifice them to their goddess Poultra from the message Jimmy had sent to them.
In jail, the kids have tossed hope aside and played the blame game, but Jimmy sulks behind a wall and cries, admitting that it is all his fault. Cindy hears him crying and Jimmy thought she was the last person he expected would ever comfort him. Cindy however reveals that the main reason why she's so mean to Jimmy so often is because she used to be the smartest kid in Miss Fowl's class before Jimmy showed up, she saw his intelligence as a threat. She then goes on to tell him that he's the only one who's smart enough to fix this mess and Jimmy figures out a plan to break out of the dungeon by letting Goddard "play dead" and completely destroying the body of one of the guards. Jimmy's confidence boosted and the path being free again, he starts giving commands to the other kids, but when Cindy runs out, he just thanks her. However, Cindy threatens him again by telling him that he'll end up like the guard if someone ever finds out that she was nice to him once.
Due to Jimmy's quick thinking, Sheen manages to mind-control the parents into safety and the Yolkians are blown into an asteroid by a giant Jimmy. All the kids cheer for Jimmy as they and their parents make course back to Retroville.
The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius[]
In When Pants Attack, Cindy is seen at the front of the school writing in a diary while narrating the content. She notes that it is Monday, 7:59 AM, and Jimmy is nowhere to be spotted. Libby sees her doing this and calls her obsessed. After talking to Carl and Sheen, Jimmy tumbles onto the schoolground on his jetpack and Cindy berates him about watching where he is going. Jimmy asks if she'd like to try the device and she sarcastically puts on a thinking expression before rejecting him, saying she'd rather eat a snail. In class, Cindy starts her report on origami. She goes in on the history of origami while folding a paper into the most difficult origami piece, a snow monkey. As she tries to convey her report, Jimmy interrupts, correcting her information. Cindy talks over him, adding more detail to the piece she was making, and the two go back and forth until Miss Fowl questions if the two were doing a shared report. Cindy denies her claim and later scolds Jimmy for taking all the attention away from her report earlier, but Jimmy tries to explain that it was all the work of the nano chip he installed in his jeans. The chip attracts all the gang's pants and they hop off and away. Cindy covers herself as she demands an explanation from Jimmy. Jimmy tells her an explanation would take too long and leaves with Carl and Sheen. Later, at the House of Blue Pants, Cindy tells Jimmy that if he doesn't return her pants, she'll sue him. When the pants become sentient, Cindy tells him he needs to do something about it. After she and the gang finally defeat the pants, Cindy asks if Jimmy feels like a big hotshot. Jimmy tries to brush it off nonchalantly, but Cindy interrupts him, reminding him that it was his fault in the first place and that she had her eyes on him.
Fanon[]
The ship between Jimmy and Cindy is quite famous for how vocal the support for it was, often being compared to Shortaki in how shippers didn't allow fans to ship Jimmy with any other girl. It is still the most popular het ship in the fandom. Jindy is often shipped alongside Shibby and sometimes Carl x Elke, both of which are also varying levels of canon. Since Jimmy and Cindy's alternate love interests Betty and Nick are still well-liked in the fandom, many fans of Jindy have just resorted to shipping them with each other as well.
